Well at least you should try to come down and visit Germany just to see how it is.. And doing the paperwork and passport doesn't take that long...I got married in March 2006 and was there by May 2006. Some take even sooner. You can start by applying for a passport now so that will cut down the hassle. If you need to know anything just ask.. ChiefJonesWife 12-26-2007, 02:07 PM I am sorry to here that he is being deployed in november, what is is unit? I will get to schweinfurt at the very end of Feb. 08 ChiefJonesWife 12-26-2007, 02:09 PM Ah he just came back with the big group from Iraq then... Looking for ward to getting there. We have out passports and orders for concurrent. Hope tome you soon.. My kids want to know if they have like ballet and things of that sort there for them to do?? Fast1sw 02-17-2008, 05:04 PM I plan on moving there around November-ish. The boyfriend is supposed to leave mid-August, but he's hoping he'll get to do Ranger school after Armor school, so that'll probably push it back. I'm hoping to be upgraded from girlfriend status before then. Oh geeze... When did I become so...warped?! ha ha. catieluvsu 04-05-2008, 05:57 AM I'll be in Schweinfurt in May, as long as the orders come back for concurrent, if not I guess it will be a little later for me. I do have a question though...His orders say the unit but that its Replacement, so does that mean we might end up somewhere else? I've also heard that he's supposed to have a sponsor from over there, but he doesn't. And no one around here has been really helpful to us. He ended up going to the levy briefing 2 months late because whenever he asked about it they (some people in his unit) kept saying they'd call him and let him know when to go. So we were way late on getting my passport and EFMP stuff going. I'm just ready to be in Germany already! |
