DF and I are trying to decide if we want to do a JOP Wedding or go to one of those little chapels and have a wedding with just the two of us. If we do that we are torn between Myrtle Beach,SC and Gaitlinburg/Pigeon Forge,TN. Has anyone gotten married at either of these places? Any opinions or advice on this?

I would do it at the beach if it's just the 2 of you make it more romantic wish I had that choice back a few years ago when DH and I eloped

I agree with Jessica, the beach sounds really sweet if it's just the two of you. If you're religious and want the chapel, that sounds really nice too =)

The beach wins every time but it is so touristy & crowed at Myrtle Beach in particular that you might loose all the romantic feel the beach can have. If you really want to do it at Myrtle then go to North Myrtle, it tends to be quieter.

i'm an oddball i say mountains

We had a JOP meet us at the beach. It's a big tourist area here also, but we went late enough in the day it wasn't too crowded. Even then the people there didn't really phase us.
I'm not big on mountains, so I'd do the beach anyway..

I'd say mountains but I'm a hiker and a moutain woman at heart! So it's totally biased. Good luck on your decision! I'm sure it will be special and beautiful no matter what you choose :hugs

yeah i was thinking about all the tourists and stuff...is there anywhere further up the strip or somewhere that would be nice?

I think it really depends on what ya'll want. I looked into the beach weddings and they are a bit more pricey than the ones that are just destination weddings. http://www.chapeloflove.cc/packages.html This is the place that Andy and I are getting married.

me and bf went to pigeon forge this winter and it was great there, and they do so much catering to people getting married.. they tried talking us into it haha.. but both would be nice!!
