Okay Ava loves being out at restaurants and stuff as long as I am not eating. Even at home, she is great until I start eating then she screams and cries. I have no idea what to do. It is making my life hell. This happens at EVERY meal!! She has always been this way. I make sure that she is fed and everything before we eat, but still she cries and screams. As soon as I finish she quits crying. What is going on? What can I do to stop this? Please tell me that at least one of you has been through this. help!:tears

are you interacting with you her when you are NOT eating? Are you interacting with her while you are eating?
Could it be that she wants to eat with you? meaning try what you are eating?

My son does this too. I don't know how old Ava is, but he's been doing it since he was 6 months old. He ALWAYS must have what I am eating. He used to eat all his food, and then still eat some of mine. now we just have all meals together. That has helped a lot. Maybe you could prepare meals earlier so she can eat with you? Also, I give my son a snack while I'm cooking so that he doesn't get too hungry waiting.

He also notices if I have my food any different than what he is getting. Even if it's the same thing and mine is on a bowl, his is on a plate, we will have the tantrumming again.

I'm sure it's because she wants what you're eating. Cameron and Wyatt both did that until they were old enough to eat the same food as us. It got to the point we didn't go out to eat very much.

She is only 4 months. I'm scared to give her my food. Do ya'll think that it is okay to give her some of my food? I have been giving her cereal, sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, and peas.

A little taste won't hurt. :) Or maybe feed her at the same time you're eating?!

Thats what I am thinking. My friends son does that too, the second she takes one bite he freaks. So she now feeds him the same time she is eating. He thinks he is eating what she is eating :giggle
