so i've read articles from google searches on dental work during pregnancy and am about to call my doctor's nurse about it... but i'm wondering if anyone else has had dental work (fillings or root canal) during their pregnancy.... i'm almost 30 weeks, so the whole "danger of miscarriage in the first trimester" is obviously not a factor... but i just wanted to hear about anyone else's experiences :)

I dont know, I wish I could have my wisdom teeth out, cuz boy they are coming in ant HURTING SOOOO BAD!! Guess I shoulda listened to the ortho when they told me to get them taken out a year after I had my braces off!

I had to wait to get my filling after I had DD.. I'm not sure either way, you could always just ask your doc :)

i had fillings done while i was preg with Chris. didnt have any problems because of it.

I had dental work done while preggo, but no x-rays

from what i've read, xrays are alright if necessary, just that i need to make sure to have extra lead shielding on my belly area, as the focus on the xray will be my mouth.

the nurse is going to call me back in a bit.

I needed a filling done when I was about 7 months along with my second. I was maxed out with novican but my mouth still wouldn't go numb so it had to be put off until I delivered. Right after I went back in and numbed righ up and got my filling.

Everything I have read says the second trimester is the best time to get dental work done.

I didn't have to get any work done but they wouldn't do the xrays. i don't think it would have been a problem to do any work.

I didn't know I was preg at the time, but I had both xrays and dental work done and so far so good w/ my kiddo. He's a lil on the hyper side up in me, but it's prob due to me being so firey and my husband acting like he's 3... :lol
