Dh had a 12 mile ruck march today, and came home with horrible chaffing on the inside of his thighs. The pharmacist told me to put diaper rash stuff on it.. Is that really a good idea?

View Full Version : Diaper rash cream? Armylove 06-26-2007, 05:06 PM Dh had a 12 mile ruck march today, and came home with horrible chaffing on the inside of his thighs. The pharmacist told me to put diaper rash stuff on it.. Is that really a good idea? brentscrystal 06-26-2007, 05:10 PM We use Calmoseptine for everything at our house... worked great on diaper rashes, works on mosquito bites, raw skin (like under toddlers noses when they have a cold), etc. I'm betting that it would work for chaffing as well. They have it at Walgreens.com, but you might want to call a local store to see if they have it. SIMMYBABEZ 06-26-2007, 05:12 PM Well I use curel to heal the chaf- but corn flour to prevent it. And to put on it so it won't hurt, while I have it. It just stops the legs from rubbing against each other. Works too! Victoria 06-26-2007, 05:12 PM LOL!!! I dunno about diaper rash cream. But for that chaffing, I'd use Neosporene! Callie 06-26-2007, 05:12 PM Yeah I would try it. Dh gets chaffing, but he hasn't used diaper rash cream he usually toughs it out, but I think that it would be a good idea. Also he could put some baby powder on it so that it doesn't rub, but glides. Armylove 06-26-2007, 05:13 PM I got some of the gold bond powder for him too.. lol.. its so bad he cant even move, or walk that well, and when he walks his legs are so far apart.. SIMMYBABEZ 06-26-2007, 05:17 PM Powder works. Btw- I think corn flour is corn starch in the states :screwy Armylove 06-26-2007, 05:19 PM Powder works. Btw- I think corn flour is corn starch in the states :screwy yeah, i dont know lol.... i rolled him over in bed and rubbed it all on him, he was like WTF IT BURNS.. hahaha Casey 06-26-2007, 05:21 PM I got that really bad one summer from wet board shorts rubbing. they told me to use A&D ointment (which I guess can be used for diaper rash) it worked well, but I recommend the cream, not the ointment because the ointment prevented it from breathing which made it hurt longer and heal slower. mElIsSaE 06-26-2007, 05:30 PM James uses Vasoline. hteew 06-26-2007, 09:40 PM My dad said diaper rash cream or Lamisil? DF got a bad heat rash his first week in the sandbox and my dad said to send him that. If it is safe to use on babies, it is probably okay for DF. :giggle Britt 06-26-2007, 09:56 PM Awwwwwww! :sadeyes DJ got that after his 8 mile hump. His flight surgeon gave him .......... Happy Heiny. .. .. .. .. :roflmao STILL FUNNY after all these years! :lmao :loser :giggle Stephanie77 06-26-2007, 10:46 PM It worked on my pregnant bloated thighs that were rubbing together, I figured if it's safe for a baby it's safe for everyone. terpsichore 06-26-2007, 10:48 PM I've used Desitin (sp?) for chaffing before and it was like a miracle... worked really quickly and no sting.
