i've had some pretty continuous and annoying back aches and pains in my lower to mid back for the last couple weeks. but it's gotten worse in the last week or so. i'm going to ask my midwife on thursday about it, but did anyone else have problems like this? it keeps me from getting comfy in any position, back, stomach, left side, right side, pillow between my knees so i end up every hour waking up and changing positions. any recommendations for what i can do?

It's normal. Usually more so when you get bigger though. My only suggestion would be a body pillow.

It sounds like it is your ligaments being stretched. I used to get the worst round ligament pain ( the lower/underside of your belly) when i was pregnant. Aa few times the only thing I could do to make it stop was to lay down and curl into a ball. It would happen when I would get up to fast/strech to fast/ roll over to fast etc.

yep definetly invest in a body pillow if you can db bought me one around 10 weeks for about 5 dollars at walmart it's my lifesaver. It's nothing special for pregnancy just a body pillow. :) But I will say the further you get along and the bigger you get the more uncomfortable you'll be...pillow or not :lol

They perscribed a maternity belt for me, but thats because my entire body is out of line....You should ask your nurse about it at the OB clinic...

i was born with my hips out of socket and wore braces for 3 months when i was an infant so maybe that's why i'm already hurting and i'm not that big yet.

The pregnancy belt will help. See if your doctor will prescribe one for you it will be cheaper that way. From my understanding they are somewhat expensive.

a lot of the pain could come from round ligament stretching... i have found that rolling a blanket or using a pillow for my head, my back, AND between my legs helps. i also find myself flipping over every hour or so to get comfortable.... oh the joys :)

I had a foot issue when I was a child and had something to do with my right leg, which is the one that was giving me problems. I couldnt even sleep when I wasnt even showing because of the pain.

They perscribed one for me and I had to go pick it up by harrison hospital over in bremerton.

I also love my physical therapy time, I feel good and then i know i pay the price the next day but one good day of sleep helps! She knew I had issues by just looking at me...grr!
