View Full Version : Did your kids get tubes in there ears under 1yrs cubanitaqt 06-27-2007, 11:31 AM my son has had tubes in his ear since he was 7 months old. He hasnt had an ear infection since then. Lately he has been pulling and poking his ears. Could it be an ear infection? USCGBoxerMom 06-27-2007, 11:35 AM Take him and have it looked at. It's possible that the tubes are coming out and "tickiling" his ear, but it could be an infection. My DD#2 had tubes before she was a year old and has had two infections since then she is almost 9. cubanitaqt 06-27-2007, 11:40 AM Yeah I think i will have to take him because he has been touching them for a week now and boy is he fussy. If she is 9 now and only has had 2 infections then wow they really must work. Traci 06-27-2007, 11:47 AM Mine was 3 but should have had it alot sooner. By the time we figured out she had a real problem she had a temp 95% hearing loss. She had to have the operation done twice. the first set came out like normal but she started going right back to bad infections so they did a second set. Now she is 10 and hears great. cubanitaqt 06-27-2007, 11:51 AM Wow that had to be bad for her. When he was younger then 7 months he had had about 10 infections so they finally sent him to a specialist. We came to find out that he had already suffered some hearing loss. The doctor said we came just in time because if we had waited any longer it may not have been able to be replaced. USCGBoxerMom 06-27-2007, 12:16 PM DD#2 had some hearing loss as well...and it did affect her speech, but as she got older she rebounded and a little speech therapy did wonders for her and you can't even tell. Before she turned 1 she had 13 ear infections as well as bacterial pnuemonia so she was a sick little girl. Traci 06-27-2007, 12:19 PM Wow that had to be bad for her. I was a first time Mom so I didn't know about this kind of stuff. I just knew my baby kept getting ear infections and my dr kept treating them. She didn't reccomend(sp) an ENT until her ears got really bad. The ENT was pissed and called DD Dr and asked why she didn't send her sooner.:no |
