So eddie told me today that when he get's back from baghdad.. I have to go with him to this family briefing thingy.. I am looking at it as some shrink or something... we have to stay two days in the city he come's into in october.. and I am not sure what exactally it's called.. and since this is my first deployment.. I was wondering if you ladie's knew anything about this.. like what do they say to u? do they ask u questions or something? like what's it all about?

family breifing? Ive never heard of that before..

The only family briefing we had was just like reintergration. It was like the unit's soldiers & their families, and they told us what was going on as for ceremonies and stuff. Also telling us to get them all re registered in the Baumholder systems and stuff, update ID cards etc etc.

Yes you have to go but if you don't live at his duty station then they wont expect you there. They talk to you about suicide, warning signs of PTSD, then a reconnect with your spouse kind of thing. Its 2 days and 2 very long boring days. The highlights are in between classes when the guys are all screwing around. We only have to go for 2 days though, the guys have to go for 2 weeks!
