ashley130 07-01-2007, 11:39 PM Well, I'm in NC right now and db is finally home! Today was unbelievable. I mean, other than them being waaay late (thank you, USMC) it was perfect. My mom made me a dress and my hair was perfect! lol All 5 buses arrived and, not knowing which bus he was on, his mom and I started scouting them all out (she was supposed to get the first hug). As I'm walking down the sidewalk I see him, about 2 feet away! I couldn't speak, I couldn't say anything. And him being about a foot taller than me he was looking right over me!!! All I could do was reach out and grab his uniform. He picked me up and I got the biggest hug of my life! I couldn't believe that he was actually in my arms! Luckily, his mom was right behind me and got some great pictures of the "first hug" and a kiss (I think). Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I'm on cloud 9 right now. I can't believe that he's just in the other room instead of 8 time zones away. Speaking of that, I'm going to go cuddle him. ;-) Just thought you all would like to know that we have officially survived our first deployment. :-D While I'm sure there will be many more to come, I'm confident things will be okay.
