Yes he will fly to his duty station. I am unaware of directions, we just show up at the airport (is this R&R or redeployment home?) If he is coming home from a deployment for good we go meet at the place where they will have their little ceremony, "you guys did good blah blah you are a bunch of heros yaddie yaddie...bull crap bull crap" and then they are released to their familes. But you have to still pick up their bags and stuff that still takes a few hours depending on how the unit set it all up.

If its R&R he is signed out on leave and can go to Tenn as long as he put it on his leave request. :)

Well in that case he can not just leave and go to Tenn with you. He has to put in and be approved for leave. Typically they dont let anyone leave for at least a month after redeployment because they have classes and have to all get straightened out. Plus they like to watch them for problems. There should be a block leave period a few months after redeployment. And you should contact his units FRG to find out about what they are doing specifically for their home coming so you are prepared.

And glad I could make you laugh ;)
