they do!! weird story actually... i had sent Kevin a Valentines Day box back in February (obviously) and i even send it like 3 weeks early to MAKE SURE it would get to him on time. (this was when he was still at Camp Pen, before the sandbox days :sigh ) well, he never got it. so 2 months pass and he comes home for predeployment leave and.... still hasnt gotten it. so obviously im pissed at this point lol because i got those personalized M&M and that shit was EXPENSIVE! plus some other stuff. but then by the time he is leaving for iraq and still hasnt gotten it im like whatever hes obviously not getting it. so thennnn like one month since hes been in iraq... "hey babe guess what i got the other day?!" what? "Happy Valentines Day to me!" haha im like WOWWW are you serious? i dont even know how that happened but he said he was glad he got it there anyway, it was his first package haha butttt i just rambled for no reason at all. but i was like welllll didnt they melt? and he was like no not at all i was suprised so i guess they were okay! but he's always hearing other guys complaining about melted chocolate haha so i dunno for SURE but mine was okay! maybe put some kind of insulation to protect it???

sorry i rambled forever for such a simple question! lol hope i helped some!

Shit balls! I saw a place on the internet that made custom ice cream and its around 100 bucks for a pint after shipping. :no

But yeah they wont make it. Rule of thumb is to send chocolate only during winter. It wont be winter until december. Right now its breaking 120 degrees.

YES! I sent DH the customized ones for our anniversary a few months ago. I don't know if they would be good to send now, it's probably gotten WAYY hotter.

Send 'em, but they're gonna melt all over everything else, so make sure they're sealed up in a baggy :)

Kinda like how M&Ms melt in your car and your car is only 95 degrees? Desert mail trucks aren't air conditioned....

I think I'll wait until it cools down to send 'em. He isn't that big on chocolate anyway. He'll be there a while so I got plenty of time. :giggle

Thanks for the info!!!

It's crazy, DH said it doesn't start to get REALLY hot until August..

He said that there were days when he would be TCing on missions and drinking bottle after bottle of water, and he'd never pee once. they'd be on the road for 20 hours pounding back water, and they'd never have to pee... He said that his clothes would be so wet from sweat, it was as if someone turned a garden hose on him.

But he said that as soon as you step outside of the Humvee, your clothes are completely dry within 2 minutes. He said that it wasn't so bad if he was gunning, because you get a bit of a breeze.

He also said that command got sick of seeing Joes congregate in the shaded areas at the FOB, so they removed all the shaded areas that they could.. Asshats.

That is crazy!!! Just one more reason to be thankful for being home and appreciate the hell out of them for sticking it out over there. DB said it was 93 there today at 1:30am their time...it was 91 here 5:30pm. He asked me what the temp was and I said "hotter than hell" and he laughed and said "guess where I am is worse than hell" :sadeyes

Yeah, that sounds like something our command would do too. :mumble

:yes I just sent my DB some for his birthday from the m&m company a couple weeks ago. They get shipped to your house in a little sytrofoam container, if you keep them in that and add some bubble wrap- they will last. He got them and said that they didn't melt!! :D

Poor DBF...I don't ask him about the temp because I know it is brutal. Plus he doesn't like to talk about things that remind him that he isn't here. Sometimes I can hear it in his voice though. I'll ask how he is doing and he'll say "hot" in this little tired tone. He sounds so pitiful when he says it like that. So I just turn it into something dirty and make him smile. :giggle

I think I decided on the Yoohoo in the cartons to go along with his cake in jar. He's never going to expect that and he LOVES Yoohoo. (L)
