OH yay!!

I haven't gotten much done with it. My mom has been doing it w/ me, but everything was put on hold when my dad was in the Hospital for 6 weeks. But when I go home for a few days at the end of this month, we're gonna get some more things done.

But.. My dress is purchased & in. We have the location picked, and have a down payment on it. We have a date (it's about our 3rd date, we're hoping it doesn't change. it hasn't yet.. and it's been about 4 months since we set it). We know who's gonna do the cake, photography and flowers.. We just have to talk to them, which we'll do at the end of this month. And early August Im gonna get my girls together to get their dresses. My colors are white and pink.. Like a light-ish pink. I have a Maid of Honor and 2 Brides Maids (I am thinking about the 3rd one still). DH has a Best Man and 3 other guys (huge brain fart and can't think of what they're called :giggle). Our 2 flower girls are my 2 cousins.. One will be 10 y.o, and the other will be about 14 months. And our nephew, who'll be 7, is gonna be the ring bear. It's an outside Wedding, around 4pm. With the reception inside, but there's also a little outside area as well.. The Navy will be tied into it. My husband will be wearing his Dress Blues. The table names will be names of different ships. And I think I want all other Military people in Uniform..

I dont want to seem likr IM cheap to my guests though, but I also cant afford money out the ying yang for invitations, not with moving and all in the same time frame. What do you girls think about this?!

BUT, im from FLorida, sooo you all know how beautiful the beaches are here... I weas actually thinking more along these lines than the church...ahhh what to do... I know I still have plenty of time to figure it all out, but I feel like at least having and extremly rough plan. SOMETHING, A DATE WOULD BE NICE!

We're having a western wedding, but we aren't sure where yet. I think we'll have it at a friend's plane hangar (it's rennovated for parties, because he doesn't keep his planes there anymore).

Invitations...I'm looking at printing them ourselves, because like tifflovezyou says, they're way cheaper!

I think we're getting real plain invitations, but we're definitely getting them made somewhere. My step-sister made her own, and she said it was a pain. She had *A LOT* of guests, though.

I think beach weddings are beautiful!!! If you live near one, I'd definitely go for that over a church!!! Unfortunately, I'm from PA, so we have to travel to get to one. DF and I are getting married in a church close to home and then our reception is like 5 minutes away from the church. Afterwards, we're all going to a local hotel and continuing the party there!! :giggle We have to be out of the hall by 11PM, so I know we'll still be ready to party.

My df just returned from the sandbox 2 days ago and we are planning to get married august 17th but we're doing a very very tiny vivil...i mean civil :giggle ceremony. I want to do it at a park or something. So now I am working my ass off to get invites out by next week!

My DF is in Iraq too. Im also looking at April 08' DF's b-day and my b-day are 10 days apart in April... So I thought it would be cool to get married around our b-days :P As for printing our own invitations, I think i'll look into paying for cheaper plain ones someone else makes.

Mikeysgal, you can call me Tiff.. :) I talked to DF last night on webcam/IM we couldnt talk too too much about anything cause he was SOOOO tired I made him go to sleep. The poor things eyes were closing, cause he couldnt sleep in the tent as it was wayyy too hot. SOO I played Mommy and told him it was bedtime. I would have LOVED to talk to him for longer, but his rest is more important than what I WANT.

If I do get married on the beach im doing it barefoot. Am I responsible for paying for the bridesmaid dresses? Im new to this stuff so I dont know. Sorry if im rambling, but this is my only place I can ramble. So please, bare with me through this planning process.:P I hope this thread comes as some kind of "support" to you. We are both originally from south Texas, and we grew up with horses and rodeos. Plus, no one around here likes getting dressed up, unless it's just a new pair of jeans and a new pair of ropers! LOL! It just seems like the simplest and cheapest route to go. Hee hee! And actually, I've always wanted a western themed wedding...I guess because they have such cute stuff for them now!

We're actually from right near the beach, but we hardly ever go there! Isn't that sad? Ha! Ha! I love beach weddings though. I've been to several of them!

I'm not an official fiance yet but I am already planning.
I am obsessed with classic movies, movies in general but i (L) the classics.
So I want to have my wedding in a movie theatre in town. Everyone will have to wear black white and/or grey. I am going to make a small slide show with pics of us together and clips from my favorite movies with weddings. i.e. Princess Bride, Ever After, Cinderella, couple of cute Chaplin clips, some Carry Grant clips, Roman Holiday, White Christmas (sigh), stuff like that.
All the while ppl can have popcorn. Then while the wedding party is getting pictures done we can have the audience watch a movie. Then we can adjourn to someplace for the after party. I work at Starbucks so I may get one of the girls to make Lattes and have plenty of coffee on hand (prolly BYOB as well but I'm not providing it). Also gonna get Black and Silver M&M's with our names and date on them!! As for invitations I am prolly going to use little Hollywood premier invitations from a party website. OH! I will also be wearing a rose red dress and John's vest will match my dress while everyone else has to wear B&W. My roses will be b&w as well :) This is what I have so far, if anyone has any suggestions or wants to steal any of the ideas be my guest. the m&ms thing is so cute and there are so many colors.

I got married April 6, 2007 and had a cowboy wedding, I am the queen of budgeting and managed to pull off a $10k+ wedding with $3500 and that was including the rings, and we had 90 people. We had an awesome dessert reception and everyone had a blast! I made our own invites, I used to work at a print shop... any of you who need help let me know. I am more than willing our wedding was a blast!!! :D

To mikeysgal: if you want some ideas and help since I have done the western/cowboy wedding, I am more than willing! :hi

i don't really have a theme, but if i did it would be something to do with roses. my bridesmaids dresses are all this really pretty deep red (apple from davids bridal if you've ever seen it in person) and they're all the same color but different styles. the groomsmen all have red vests to match. the reception is at our country club and it's going to be an evening candlelit thing, with roses everywhere. and they're throwing rose petals instead of rice. the guest gifts are red and cream m&ms with "July 20, 2007" on some and "Daniel & Erin" on the others. i love love LOVE it all and i *almost* don't want it to end!
oh and we ordered our invitations from davids bridal, since we got all our dresses there we got a 40% discount on them which really made them about the same as getting them from like a party store.

We're planning a courthouse wedding, and then a real wedding later on...it just makes sense for us! :) And I couldn't be happier to be married ASAP, even if it means waiting a few years for the real deal!

Well I am gonna dis it because its not for me:boxing, on the flip side though even if i had 30 grand to blow I would still have a cheap wedding and an expensive honeymoon :wink

And actually the reason I said "boo" is because DB knows I want my little movie star wedding, nothing huge, but I am afraid he is gonna try and pull some lets just get married quick in the courthouse and I won't get my wedding :( Honestly I don't care where other ppl get married as long as they can get married and they are happy with it. Setting up to get married on St Patty's Day 08. We are themed for the day. Location and such is still up in the air at this point. It's too hard trying to plan a wedding when he is overseas. When he comes home though, planning will be in full swing. Congrats to all the lovely brides.

Df and I talked a little about it tonight, we can exactly make dates and stuff yet, not until we get settled in Mass. We do know we love eachother very much, and a big wedding isnt practical. BUT, I will have a dress and a small wedding. As long as im marrying him, I dont care where or how.

It was cute tonight we were talking about something on here and I was telling him about a post or something, I refered to someones SO as their DH he said, "wth is a DH?" I said "Dear Husband" he said "What am I?" I said "DF" he said "I better be" :teehee I thought that was cute :blush

Andy asks the same when I say DB, DF or DH. Then when I tell him what it means he just giggles. Guys are just silly sometimes.
