I just recently found out - after an ER trip due to severe bleeding and a follow-up doctor's appointment the next day - that I have a subchorionic bleed. The placenta detatched in a small area from my uterus, and now I'm having some small bleeding and I've been put on complete bedrest. I haven't gotten to talk to my doctor yet since he's been on vacation for the past week, but I was wondering if there's anyone else who's possibly gone through the same thing who may have some encouraging words? They told me I have a 50% chance of losing this baby... and being stuck on bedrest 24 hours a day with nothing to think about BUT this (hubby's taking care of daughter).. I've been starting to get really worried and depressed about the whole situation. Just was wondering if there was anyone out there who's been through this and could tell me a little more, since no one wants to tell me ANYTHING at my doctor's office. Thanks!

I had a subchrionic hemmorage with my daughter. I was earlier on then you. I was 6 weeks when we found it due to bleeding and by 8 weeks it had disolved and passed.
They are actually quite common. I was never put on complete bedrest for mine. Just on complete pelvic rest and light activity.
:hugs to you. Those odds are odd to me tho because when I had mine, my Dr told me they were fairly common and almost always corrected themselves

See.. that's where I'm confused.. because I've had one doctor and one nurse tell me that the problem should correct itself and the baby and I will both be alright.. then I've had another doctor and another nurse tell me that I have a good chance of losing this baby, and that if I don't that it could severly injure the baby from lack of nutrients. :banghead I just want someone to give me a definite answer about something! They're making me get an ultrasound and a pelvic exam every week for most likely the rest of my pregnancy.. and the one nurse/midwife told me to expect to bleed for the rest of my pregnancy... then the next day a different doctor said he thought it'd clear up! :hairpull Stupid doctors and nurses.

I too had a subchorinic bleed with this pregnancy from 9weeks to 13weeks...they put be on light bedrest and told me no lifting. It was very nervewracking for me everytime I went to the bathroom, afraid of what I would see when I wiped... it was about a cm in size *half the size of what the baby was at the time*, but on my appointment at 13weeks they checked up on it and it was gone....and things have been going great since, the baby is healthy and doing great.
Just take it easy, and know that what happens, happens...even with the bedrest they told me it's no guarntee :hugs

The doc told me the same about it having a 50/50....they did say they were common in pregnancies and most go undetected but they still told me that it could go either way.

Well I had one and my daughter is here and not injured at all. So there is proof that it all can be alright. I wish you much luck! :hugs

I had a very small one at first, they said it absorbed and I was fine. I did have my daughter at 35 weeks because of placental abruption which can be a result of a subchorionic bleed but she's fine and healthy. My whole pregnancy was fine until all the sudden at 35 weeks.
