what is the purpose of a dishwasher if you have to wash "rinse" your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher?

I just assume a that if its a good dishwasher you dont have to pre rinse your dishes.

There are dishwashers that you don't have to wash/rinse the dishes... the ones in housing aren't those kind! LOL!!!!

It does suck though having to wash them and then put them in the dishwasher to wash them again!

I dont get it! Its like the dishwasher doesnt do its job. All my silverware now has permanent stains on them that wont come off

if you wash dishes as soon as you're done with them, you have no need to rinse, but i guess what it is.. is you don't want big chunks in the washer, it'll clog up the drain on it... the small holes... ?

ya that makes sense, thats why I normally rinse my dishes when im done with them.

I use my dishwasher everyday.I do pre-rinse but I like the dishwasher because it get's so hot and sanatizes the dishes better than handwashing them would do.

exactly, my parents have the ultra quiet, no need to pre rinse kind. I (L) it it's awesome, mine is the crappiest dish washer ever made

Wow. I have never had that happen. I wash my pots and pans by hand and use JetDry. I live in housing and they suck so I pre-rinse.

yup it happened. so no matter how hard I scrub the stains are there. So i swear my dishes are clean they are just stained :irked

I LOATHE the dishwasher in housing, they already had to replace parts once, sad part is, its a brand new cheap one :lol

so ya it also melted the handles of my steak knives and my knives have rust spots on them.

I wonder if its getting too hot?

yep. my grandma has one that has a disposal in it but the housing ones are cheap

:lol we still scrape off the dishes of big stuff and rice because for some reason the disposal doesn't like rice lol. other than that though it works wonders

Oh ya the other day my kitchen bulbs went out so housing came to replace them. Find out only 2 out of 4 were working, no wonder why it was always dark in there :arg
