If i got pregnant again would i automatically be considered high risk? I was just wondering. The doc said there was a slim to none chance of that condition happening again. Would they just go off history though?

They may monitor your pregnancy a little more closely. I dont know if they would consider you high risk? that would be hard to say because every doctor is different. know what I mean? Bex 07-14-2007, 08:46 PM i don't think they'd consider YOU high risk, as you don't have any health problems? :shrug no idea Angela P. 07-14-2007, 08:49 PM What is your condition? I am considered high risk b/c I have lost 2 babies. One at 16wks and at 7wks and 2days. Nicole1788 07-14-2007, 08:50 PM What is your condition? I am considered high risk b/c I have lost 2 babies. One at 16wks and at 7wks and 2days. Well...i didn't know i was pregnant, had a period the whole time, and my daughter has porencephaly (not genetic) Nicole1788 07-14-2007, 08:50 PM i don't think they'd consider YOU high risk, as you don't have any health problems? :shrug no idea Idk my mom said i would be :dunno Mommy2Bailey 07-14-2007, 08:51 PM I think they would monitor the baby more closely. So naturally they would have to see you more. Angela P. 07-14-2007, 08:52 PM Well...i didn't know i was pregnant, had a period the whole time, and my daughter has porencephaly (not genetic) Probably not. They usually consider high risk if you have had more then one loss or one loss later in your pregnancy or your baby has a birth defect like downs or something or had a baby way premature. Angela P. 07-14-2007, 08:53 PM But I would think they would monitor you a little closer. Bex 07-14-2007, 08:58 PM Idk my mom said i would be :dunno ahhh well i think, if anything, they'd actually monitor the baby this time. as you said, you didn't know you were pregnant and thus had no monitoring whatsoever... so with regular appointments and monitoring, i think they'd prob just do the standard appts/ultrasounds... and if they saw something strange, then monitor more closely? Donna 07-14-2007, 09:04 PM you would probably just get more u/s's than normal. then if something was found you would be high risk *tina* 07-15-2007, 08:15 AM It will honestly depend on the doctor. If your daughter's problem is genetic, they would probably do extra genetic testing, but if her problem is a one in a million thing, they will do the testing, and then let you be with a regular OB if everything is normal with the tests. Traci 07-15-2007, 08:54 AM After everything with DD I was considered very high risk. As soon as I got pregnant with #2 they sent me to a high risk OB. After I had DD I got 3 opinions. 1 said no more kids and 2 said yes if I were monitored close. Being an only child I did not want an only child so I had another. While I was pregnant my OB said another would be to high of a risk and to not even think of #3. two other Dr's agreed. Based on my health and my kids beinging born early DD got a V and we are done. I was told if I tried it again it could very well kill me and God knows what could happen to the baby. |
