So my fiance is currently deployed and we've been fighting on the phone about what color to have for the bridesmaid dresses/the wedding. It started out as play-fighting but I'm getting more and more upset about him not letting me do what I want.

So I've always wanted green...which he hates. When he was still here, we compromised to lavendar, which I was ok with, but the more I think about it, the more I still want green. Now he's saying he wants yellow...

I just don't know what to do...I'm sick of fighting about this, but he's not budging. Advice?

Same here. DH has pretty much let me handle everything. I always ask, but he just says to go with whatever will make me happy.

yeah, i don't know why he wants to be involved so much...he's also convinced that all he will have to do is get back from iraq, say he loves me, and i'll do whatever he wants...MEN!!!

Dh adn I found a happy medium for ours-I wanted lavendar, he wanted blue so we had royal blue lavendar and periwinkle. Good luck.

It is his wedding too.... Try to compromise on the "shade" of green.

I'm sure you two can come up with some sort of compromise. Whatever I wanted for the wedding DH was fine with b/c he knew that its kinda one of those things that girls/females always dream about. He just wanted MY dream wedding.

Just talk to him and tell him how you feel about it, I'm sure there is a color you two can agree on!

yeah, i told him he could pick out the shade (as long as it's not lime green - not my cup of tea) and that's still not working for me...hopefully we can agree on something soon because it's not like we have time to fight about this when they are limited to 30 minutes on the phone!

yeah maybe you can use a green accent piece in a couple of places-- that does sound frustrating though--

i guess i've always thought guys wanted to stay out of the plans...and you always hear "the wedding is really for the bride"...i'm not big on planning weddings, so i'm glad he is willing to help with all the little details and whatnot, but who knew this would be such a source of frustration!

what about a celery type shade?

he makes fun of natural shades of green (since the wedding will be outside) and says that we won't be able to find people because they will blend in...drives me crazy, but i love him!

what about having more then one color?? Maybe you can have green dresses and yellow flowers since those 2 colors look good together ( depending on what shades of each that you choose....)

Ok, first, I just have to say that Lacey and Casey our mine and my sister's names :lmao That made me laugh sooo hard when I saw it!!!!

Second, when are you getting married? Maybe you can compromise with going with the colors of the season?? That way, you have a fewer amount of colors to choose from and you can both be happy. OOOOORRR why not do 2 colors? Like Green and Lavender? That would be BEAUTIFUL!!!

Haha...yeah, we debated going by my middle name (Aren) so we don't sound ridiculous together, but i don't think it's going to fly...

which color would you do for the bridesmaid dresses? they would go nice together, but i don't think two different colored dresses would work...

Im planning our wedding too, while the fiance is in Iraq...and we've had the same problem. He wants to be involved and help out, but certain things Ive always dreamed of for the wedding, he cant stand. We've just learned to compromise, give n take. I guess thats the only advice for ya. I know it's frustrating!

I wish I had some advice for you. Andy and I were able to compromise on colors. I got my green (which of course is essential for a St Patty's Day wedding), and he got his blue (which compliments the green very well). Just try and get a compromise out of him. Hang in there. :hugs

Can you all have two colors? You have your color and he has his. That is what we are going to do I think I want the girls to wear one color and he wants another so we are going to let the guys where the other color. Just advise him that the have to go together.
