Bex 03-02-2006, 05:48 PM i never did KC until my last week... but who knows, i went to a bad doc.... Kaymara 03-02-2006, 05:51 PM They usually start around 28 weeks (3rd trimester) and are done daily until delivery.. The point is so that if there is decreased movement you will know early on and can prevent a bigger problem by noticing a decrease in movement rather then just no movement Rachael 03-02-2006, 06:12 PM They usually start around 28 weeks (3rd trimester) and are done daily until delivery.. The point is so that if there is decreased movement you will know early on and can prevent a bigger problem by noticing a decrease in movement rather then just no movement ohhhh okay, that makes more sense! So if the cord gets around his neck or something like that, I'll notice cause he'll move less. Should I do it the same time everyday? Rach 03-02-2006, 07:03 PM From what my sheet says, your supposed to do it in the evening by laying on your side and counting. I don't do them b/c she moves so much as it is, I don't need to. If I notice she isn't moving as much, than I'll start doing them. Rachael 03-02-2006, 07:25 PM okay cool, yah...I didnt have to do them with my last pregnancy, but its probably a good thing to be aware of! Kaymara 03-02-2006, 07:26 PM ohhhh okay, that makes more sense! So if the cord gets around his neck or something like that, I'll notice cause he'll move less. Should I do it the same time everyday? My Dr always said to do it in the AM after breakfast. Yes around the same time everyday. You want 10 kicks in like 2 hours time. Obviously if you get more in less time then stop. I did them every morning after breakfast. He was the most active then and it usually took me around 20 minutes to get those movements ;) Rachael 03-02-2006, 07:35 PM Okay good to know, I think I will try after breakfast too cause after not eating all night Im sure that would be an active time for him! Potatocup 03-03-2006, 07:49 AM They say to do it whenever your baby is most active. I usually don't have to do them official anymore either because she is constantly moving. Rileysmom 03-03-2006, 02:09 PM yeah I would def. do it! Riley stopped kicking a little, and it turned out he didn't have enough fluid, and my water had been slowly breaking, so they had to induce me! :shock It's a good thing I had been doing them or who knows what could of happened! I usually did it after dinner, b/c thats when he was most active, so I could get an accurate count each time. |
