View Full Version : Associates degree ? Germanchick 03-02-2006, 04:54 PM We were just looking at how many credits DH has through his job. How many credits do you generally need for an associates degree? navymansbabe 03-02-2006, 04:57 PM i think 60... right? lol andrea 03-02-2006, 07:11 PM yep 60-62 galxy8 03-03-2006, 01:01 PM I think it's 60, too. And I'm pretty sure certain core classes have to be fulfilled, like Speech, Writing, Science, Math, etc. sdshorty 03-06-2006, 10:48 AM For dh its 63 I believe. And yes you do have to do the basic general ed courses, like math, science, history and stuff like that Germanchick 03-06-2006, 10:49 AM Thanks ladies. We figured he'd still need the basic stuff. MontanaSweetie 03-06-2006, 05:26 PM Its 60 at my college for an Associate's degree. 120 for a Bachelor's. Brandi 03-06-2006, 05:52 PM My ASN (associates in nursing) is actually 72 so it can vary depending on what type of degree you're going for. And some of the general classes like Biology and Chemistry aren't even credit courses but you have to have them. Michele 03-23-2006, 07:24 AM It was 60 credits for dh to get his associates. He was able to take CLEPS and PACE courses while he was underway. Lots of his Navy schools/work experience counted towards credits. The best thing to do is go to Navy college on your base. They have lots of different programs available. :) We signed dh up for a fast track degree through ECSU and it will only take 18 months for him to get his BS :) Laurie119 03-23-2006, 07:33 AM For mine, it was 90. It depends on the credit system of the college. When the credits are analyzed, they are assigned a program that they would belong to (law enforcement, geography, etc) A small amount of core classes could be satisfied depending on which trainings he has taken, but generally, half to 2/3 of my husbands degree could be satisfied just through the schools he's had in the Navy. |
