How is this possible?
I know it is because 1) it happened to me with Jerron... got preggo after no period for 3 mths and 2) I have read success stories on it.
But how? I don't understand. If I haven't had a period in 8 mths how is it possible?
I thought if you did ovulate and did not get pregnant then that's why you had the period... and I did ovulate the last days of Jan because I got pregnant then. I have got + ovulation test the other day and they aren't constant +'s like I have heard some woman with PCOS can have. They are stark negative and then it was positive.
Can someone explain this to me? Am I just trying for no reason? After this long with no period is it even possible to still be ovulating? And why if I am ovulating am I not having a period? :dunno

This is how it is possible:
In order to have a normal cycled period or pregnancy you must ovulate correct?
So look at it in this terms. Say I didnt have my period for 8 months. I wasnt ovulating... Then I ovulated... Which I wouldnt know about because it just happens. Then either pregnancy or a period happens. This is how MANY women get pregnant after birth. You ovulate BEFORE you have a period. Does that make sense? You ovulate and then 2 weeks later pregnancy or a period. So if you had not of had a period for 8 months and then you ovulated and had sex you'd get pregnant. And wouldnt of gotten a period. But had you of not had sex you woulda finally gotten your period
Yes thats why you got a period. You ovulated. Which means if you had NOT gotten preg you would of had a period that month. See? And no. you would not be ovulating and not getting pregnant or getting a period. if you ovulate you will EITHER get pregnant or have a period. The months you have no period are months of no ovulation. Then you ovulated and then got pregnant. Its really easy. You dont get a period PRIOR to ovulating. You just ovulate. Which is why birth control is so important after pregnancy. You ovulate before a period

I honestly can't give an answer. But I thought you had to have a period for you to O. PCOS makes everything so difficult! Like I suggested, try the digital ovulation test. You don't have to worry about the LH surge line being darker. It gives you a smiley on the 2days your most fertile. You might have to be put on something to get your periods going..I wish there was more for me to say!
I wish you so much luck Cori..Your in my prayers! And remember there is always an success story and you'll be one of those soon! :hugs

I had a period in Dec of 98...I got preggo with gaven on April 26,99...I went almost 5 months without a period..this could be why i was 11 weeks preggo when i found out.. :lmao! I didnt know..I AM NEVER regular, so going that long isnt a big deal to me.. I thought i had the flu.
(pregnancy is NOT something you want to hear when your on a ship with 3000 navy and marine people sitting off the coast of a country you're about to envade)
..lol...good luck..i know its difficult, but streesing about it just makes it 10 times worse.

Cori I am sorry that you are having to go through this.
My answer to the question would be you are not ovulating, therefore not having a period. I'm really not sure though because you have been 8 months without a period, and have gotten positive ovulation test and been pregnant. Maybe you could ask your doctor. ( I know that advice probably sucks)

I am sooo confused then :dunno
I don't get a positive ovulation tests all the time...
I got 1 last week but I haven't had a period in 8 mths and I have since got pregnant, misscarried and got positive ovulation tests since but NO period...
I take the OPKs all the time and they are stark negative and then I can watch them get darker till they are postive. So, I don't understand how they care false or why Im not getting a period.
I guess I me trying to get pregnant is in vain then?
I should have known I couldn't get preggo this long since my misscarriage without a period :sigh

So, since I haven't had a period since November and haven't bled at all since my misscarriage in February, then + OPKs I got since then were false because I never started my period 2 weeks later? :dunno
:sigh
