I think I am going to jump on the scrapbooking bandwagon. What would you reccomend for a starter type kit? Do they have kits or do you just buy individual stuff. What would you say are some of the basics to get you started and what are some websites that can help you with ideas, supplies, etc. What is the cheapest method for buying supplies? What is the easiest? I don't want to spend a ton becaues I don't know if will get into it and if I will have time so I just want to try it out. Any suggestions??(L)

Cool! Things that I would suggest you as a starter are mm.. You could get a starter kit but I've never found one style that I like but if you do that might be a good idea. As of the basics I would say...
*Herma runner (tape) around $7
*Paper (ligning and acid free) if you get them per piece at a scrapbook store around $.50 per sheet
*12" trimmer (don't waste your money getting the small one cause in the long way you will need this one.
*pictures
from here you add whatever you want and whatever you think will fit your style.
Visit this page, it will give you a lot of info for begginers http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/scrap/basics/
and have fun!

Pretty much everything Shaky said, also a good pair of scissors, lol. I would recommend making a good scrapbooking budget, set aside how much you want to spend. Once you walk into a store and see all the supplies they have, it's easy to get carried away (and trust me, some of that stuff can get super pricey).

I personally feel that creative memories cutting system is the best JMO
I still use their albums BUT most everything else I get at the stores I like the embelishments :D
Maybe you can look around for a LSS and they will usually let you use their tools and it can usually help you decide what you do and don't like

if you live near a Michaels they have a lot of scrapbooking stuff. i dont know if theyre every where, or just on the west coast. lol. but they have a lot of kits and stickers and what not.
I would reccommend just buying some creative memories pages if you are not sure if you are going to get into it. and if you end up really liking it then you can buy a creative memories scrapbook. their books are the absolute best! JMO

I absolutely love my Creative Memories cutting stuff. I have the ovals, star and octagon, and the border maker.
There's a store in Silverdale called Scrapbook Zone. It's right across from Navy Federal and Starbucks. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the street it's on now. Down the road from Costco and Linens-N-Things. Anyways, I've heard they have a good selection. Also, Joanne's and Michaels on Silverdale Way both have a good selection.
I would also recommend investing in a good system for keeping everything organized. I got a nice accordian file in the Office Supplies section at Walmart for keeping my papers seperated for like $4. It also has a pocket in the front that I keep my thumb punches in and it also has a smaller accordian section in the front that I keep my die cuts and stickers in.

I wish I could compare CM with something but I've never in my life try anything CM related.
