My last period was June 28th, I tested positive on an OPK July 12th and found out I was pregnant July 27th. My concern is that I have already gained 4 pounds. I am eating healthier foods, I never ate horribly to begin with, and I walk often. I have heard about false OPK positives and I was wondering if it is possible that I might have 2 babies in there, or I am farther along than I thought.

The thing confiusing me is that last week I took a test at the military clinic (pee test) and it was in the afternoon (after lots of water/eating/going to the bathroom) and it was a faint positive. So, if I was farther along than 4 weeks when I took the clinic test, wouldn't it have been darker?

To be sure, I am a worry wart, I have taken tests the last few days to see how quickly a positive comes up, and they have been VERY dark positive lines. I know I am pregnant. I am just wondering about the number of babies or how far along I actually am. Any thoughts is so appreciated!

I read on another board that someone else had the same issue and it wasn't her first pregnancy and she was pretty convinced she was having twins. (had gained 5 pounds and she thought she was really early on but tested positive on an OPK test.)

I think I wouldnt worry too much about weight gain this early. Do you know when you will have your 1st u/s? Tell your dr your concerns and he might test you early.

That's true. I was pretty pissed at my mom for saying that to me. She also told me last week the my morning sickness and constant peeing was in my head because it was too early for that.

As my dr. says every woman is different and he worries more when a woman is losing or not gaining weight. Did your doctor say what range you should be in for weight gain?

The clinic listed me as only 4 weeks (last week) so they wont see me yet.

I wouldn't sweat it... just make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids and eating regularly. You should be fine!

I didn't gain any weight until I was 5 months, but I was sick all the time. Then from 5 months to 8 months I gained 50lbs! I was hungry for mexican food at 2am! Not a good idea... but then I had him a month early and he was 8lbs.... so a lot of it was him. lol

I wouldnt worry at all. Even this early there are alot of changes. Your boobs are gaining and your probably a little bloated too so that can count for something.
