does anyone know the difference between a size 4T and a size 4 in girls? meagan is in a 4T. some stuff fits fine, some is too big, some is too small. i'm just wondering if i should try a 5T or switch to the girls' sizes (i think the girls' sizes would give me more options than having to try to find 5T). it's probably a stupid question and i'm going to have to suck it up and start actually having her start trying stuff on lol. TIA for any help :D

Honestly, I don't go by size. I put the item up against Camryn and see if it looks as though it will fit. (She's still little to be doing the fitting room thing) She wears anywhere from a 3T to a 5 depending on the way things are made.

I think 4t would be bigger around the middle than just a size 4... I think the toddler sizes tend to allow for more chunkiness than the regular sizes. Don't quote me on that though :lol

With some 4T's that's true. Because a lot of kiddos in 4Ts are still in either diapers or pullups.

i have to quote you :giggle i was thinking at 4T might be bigger to allow for a pull up or something. meagan's out of them now, but usually the waist/butt is where stuff is tight on her IF it's tight. *sigh* lol

DD has some 5T stuff like that, when we switched from pullups to panties, they all fit though, so I'm getting extra use out of her stuff.

yeah, there are still some 3T things that fit meagan, but not much lol. i know some brands fit her really well (lee rider jeans from walmart and sketchers jeans from kohls) and other stuff will be all wonky on her (like most old navy pants if they don't have an elastic waist).

unfortunately, holding stuff up on her won't help because it's usually the waist/booty area that's tight. i *think* she'd be pretty good in a dressing room. she's been in with me before and has been okay. it's her little sister that would cause the problems if she's with us :lol

Try the adjustable waist ones in Levi Strauss brand from Target, Walmart or even Children's place. For plain jeans (to play in), sometimes I buy DD little boy ones, if they're just plain.

:shrug I'm no help because my daughter is still in 2T/3T. She is so tiny that it's a pain to shop for her when it comes to size. I (L) the clothes with adjustable waists. Otherwise, everything would be falling off her. If we try clothes on, it's when we're at home and we play "dress up." It's easier to do it in our home than at a store, and sometimes she's not with me when I go clothes shopping for her.

I've noticed too, it really depends on the brand of clothing as to what size she'll wear.

Amen, Madison is like a little stick with legs. It's nearly impossible to find pants that are long enough but small enough around that they don't fall off. I'm having the same troubles with Hayden now that he's slimmed down.

see, with meagan, if i get the adjustable waist pants, they gap at the back of her waist above her butt. even if i tighten them a LOT. guess she's got some junk in her trunk lol. she almost never has a problem with elastic waist jeans though.

that's a good idea about the boys' jeans. we had to borrow a pair from a friend once and they were just the faded glory boys jeans, but they fit her pretty well lol.
