What do you think should be done if someone wins more than 1 award?

Give them the award that they swept and give the other award to the 2nd place person so more than 1 person gets an award?

Use the winner

Honestly, I think people should have only been able to be nominated for one award. That being said, and knowing it can't be changed now, I would give them first for the award they won by the most percentage, and give it to the second place winner as you said. (I know, math sucks)

i say give it to the person that won. everyone on this board was open to nomination and everyone was open to voting.

But then who gets to decide which award that person got nominated for?

It isn't the nominees fault that people nominated them for a lot of stuff.

It isn't the nominees fault that people nominated them for a lot of stuff.

- If a nominee nominates someone for more than one group, those nominations are thrown out since they didn't follow the rules

- You take the top three nominees for each group

- If the top nominees are nominated for more than one group out of the valid nominations take the group they received the most nominations for and put it up to vote

- If there is a tie, the game administrators decide which group they fit best.

Actually, I specifically asked if a person could be nominated for more than one group :)

ETA: That adds a lot more work to the poll posters who are doing this just for fun anyway.

Not really, it wouldn't be too difficult with a little organization

I think they were very well organized. I don't think it's fair to be saying the SOS Awards crew isn't doing a good enough job organizing just because people are all up in arms over this.

MOST people are fine with the way things are, both those nominated and those who didn't show up anywhere. The people who keep on and keep on about how badly done it is are making it no fun for the rest of us, kwim?

if that's the case that someone gets thrown out for being nominated for more than one award then obviously it wasn' just one or two people nominating people for several awards. and tawny DID ask specifically if we could nominate for more than one thing.

What I meant was that if you nominated, say, Tawny, for multiple awards, YOUR nominations would be thrown out since YOU didn't follow the rules

They DID follow the rules. I ASKED if we could nominate someone for more than one award. The answer was YES.

Not very many people even turned in the surveys. The Awards crew did a great job and I think people are being completely unreasonable. This is really bringing out the worst in people in my opinion.

well then it wasn't just one or two people it was a bunch of people nominating her for various things. if the rules were someone couldn't be nominated for more than one thing then they wouldn't have been put up on the polls

They DID follow the rules. I ASKED if we could nominate someone for more than one award. The answer was YES.

exactly. the people running sos awards are the ones that need to make the final decison.

VERY good point. I've seen a lot of people say "Oh well, I didn't turn in a survey".

If you didn't turn in a survey, you shouldn't be saying anything about how the nominations turned out, kwim? You could have contributed your nominees and chose not to. JMO :)

If you win more than one, you should get more than one. People intentionally voted for that person and it really shouldn't matter how many they get because people on THIS SITE voted them to get it.

She stated more than once as if it were fact that it was against the rules. Sorry, I guess I was confused.

I say we let THIS awards round go as planned, and then SHE can plan and coordinate the next one.

You guys may not care but the people who voted for you to get it probably do. 50-70 votes is just way too many people for me personally to ignore or throw out.

Either way I'm sure you can prove that by people looking back and seeing it was YOU (I hope I'm right lol) that brought up the whole one award per person thing. :D I'm not sure I was even thinking about it in the beginning till you brought it up. Either way is fine with me so I say that the one that wins the poll in this is the way we will go. That will be the final one and hopefully this will all stop. :dunno

I really don't understand how anyone would seriously care unless they were the ones losing out on the awards. I think the people that should have the most say are the ones getting the awards. :shrug I personally really don't care if the person I voted for wins or not since this WAS supposed to be just for fun. :dunno

I can understand your point there. I guess I'd be miffed if I nominated a person for only one thing that I believe they deserved, then they win but get it taken away because they already won something else. I see what you're saying :)

yeah... well, voting means something to me. It's probably because of where I work. We take it seriously here, voting... not "online awards" but whatever, I'm not everyone I guess. There are several that agree with me though so :dunno

and the fun kinda got sucked before this...

At this point, I almost think everyone on the board should be given a blinkie with some sort of SOS award!! Maybe that would make everyone happy?!

Most likely to succeed
Best car
Cutest cat
Cutest puppy
Cutest SO! (hahaha!)
Best eyes
Best hair
Best homecoming outfit
Most unique user name
Most posts
Best lurker :P
Etc etc etc...

I think its total bullshit people cant take an awards thing on the internet as a FUN thing. People never cease to amaze me. I know this thread is kind of old. But WOW. Its just amazing to me. yes, lets make blinkies for everyone, that way NO ONE will feel left out. WAH WAH WAH! We should have categories like:

Most Sensitive
Sore Loser Award
Cry Baby
etc etc

I agree with this. I also think it would of made it more fun so maybe keep in mind for next time?

I also wanted to add that I didn't even KNOW this (The Awards thing) was going on until this week so I guess that is my bad I just did not notice it.
