Why are people taking this SOS Awards thing so seriously?

Seriously enough to have extra polls because people were nominated more than once?

i agree. everyone was open to be nominated and everyone is open to vote so i don't see the big deal

I don't understand either! Ist time we did this I got the "Drama Queen" award and it didn't bother me! I knew I won that fair and square at that point in my life and it was all fun and games. Thankfully I have been drama free for almost 2 yrs now.:teehee

A few got butthurt and now cried about it and now everything has to be changed specifically for them... ridiculous really.

There are a handful that are involved in keeping it going. Most of us don't really care, and if anything feel bad for the pollsters that are being put through so much CRAP over it.

Yes i changed the drama queen category because the posts would not stop, it would die down then someone would post something and it would snowball up again for something that was already finished and the people said they were ok with. But people still had the urge to hit the post button. So that is why it is changed, i changed it for name sake because "drama" is always someone :stirpot:fueltofire

oh and another thing i decided to do this for something fun for everyone, even though i have a shit ton going on i still wanted to do something nice for the boards :hugs

After the survivor thing was changed, which btw, I was fine with so that drama doesn't fall on my head, someone bitched that people were nominated more than once.

No there were more posts after still complaining about the name and the nominees and that the people shouldnt be in there even though they said ok with it.:grumpy

Personally, I did not and would not think that anyone nominated Donna because of what happened to Danica... I would think no one would be that heartless. She DID however go through much drama (tragedy NOT included) this past year in her personal life. Plus I thought that the voting went on before Danica passed away but I could be mistaken on that. Maybe I just give people the benefit of the doubt on their reasoning for nominating someone for an AWARD.

If this is about Rach and Donna, I believe it was justified. I don't think they were trying to take the fun out of things-they were just expressing their feelings without knowing what the award was. They didn't know that it means surviving, they thought it meant drama queen in the negative sense. I would have felt the same way. Look at what they have endured in REAL life, wouldn't you be upset if you thought people were making a mockery out of your personal heartaches and tragedies? It's not drama, a woman lost her child and both endured a great deal. I don't think any of us were making a mockery out of what they went through, but I think they thought that's what we were doing and got offended. I think we can excuse them if they were just a little offended and sensitive about such serious personal heartaches.

This isn't just about Donna and Rach. This is the whole thing. People are upset over people being nominated more than once, people didn't read what the award was for, etc.

I've been through some serious crap in "real life" as well, but I didn't take it as a mockery. Both Rach and Donna have also been part of board drama. I doubt ANYONE was seriously making a mockery of either person's real life drama. People aren't THAT heartless.

Never again will I support an SOS awards cycle. This is not the first time we've had one, and it's not the first time there have been issues. To find out your husband cheated on you, or that your daughter, who you regarded as a miracle due to how she was concieved, would never get more than 6 weeks of life, is a LOT different than the most notable of your drama lately, which was The Billion Post War with Kristin, or the fact that people call you out for being...tempestuous?
