Remember the pit bull rapist?

http://www.niagara-gazette.com/local/local_story_190233439.html

This is the only update I can find so far:
http://www.care2.com/c2c/share/detail/423778

I will be VERY surprised if the perpetrator here is actually a dog - I think a human most likely did it, and the dog is a scapegoat. Is it POSSIBLE that a dog did this? Sure. Is it PROBABLE? I doubt it.

i said when it first broke that something was fishy smelling.

my dh and i talked about this and he said that he think's that the dog would never do that on it's own and i don't think it would either. if it did that to that little boy then there was an adult who helped that dog do that to that little boy.

I'm glad you found some sort of an update - I hadn't been able to find anything yet, which is kinda surprising. I thought people would be on their toes about this story.

I'm curious to know why the mother decided to relocate..?! :thinking

if it was the dog why was the child left alone for that long with the dog? why wasn't anyone coming running when the kid screamed when the dog first penetrated.

I didn't think the story sounded right from the beginning. I'm glad someone is doing some digging! That poor puppy just looks so sad!!!

Sad story.

I seriously doubt that dog did that on it's own.

What amazes me is that this was such an outrageous story that people were ALL OVER and now... crickets churping.

I honestly believe it's because they've discovered something that's not so exciting.

That surprises me too. So many people thought it was fishy from the start, but we haven't heard anything since.

What do you think they discovered?

Personally, I think DNA came back that didn't even belong to the dog.

How strange that the mother RELOCATED and can't be found? WHY would she do that?? They are supposedly the VICTIMS in this story!

I am so glad to hear that people are supporting the dog. Something has never rang true with the mothers story

I dont think that its the dog at all...they had it since it was a puppy and they are very protective over their owners...I dont know why a dog would ever do this and specially if they have never had any problems with it...this doesnt add up at all :shrug

You would think any news on this would make them write something, but I guess since pits are "such bad dogs", they don't want to put the blame on anyone but him.

I find that fishy too. And that she won't let anyone release his medical records? I'm sorry, but in a story like this, wouldn't you want people to know if your child is ok? My only guess is that they found something out at the hospital, so she's in hiding.

It's so very true about when dogs mate, they tend to scratch. Why were there no scratches on that child?! I'm still curious as to how the hell a dog can run outside with a toddler hanging from his penis.

It's starting to sound like an "experiment" went bad.

Why was the boy just kinda randomly naked anyway? Assuming it was "random" and that the "dog" attacked him. That's stupid. Doubt it was the dog. :screwy

they said the boy took off his diaper to be changed and mom told him to go get a new one.

Its absolutely heartbreaking. The worst part is if it were any other breed NOBODY would even think it could have been the dog. Instead because of the bad rap they have gotten might as well throw rapist onto the pile of violent names :( so pathetic.

Exactly. Just because it's a pit, it was a top story.

I read an article the other day about a "vicious dog attack" and they didn't even say what kind of dog it was. Must have been what people consider a "family dog" then because you know if it was a pit, rott, or any other dog deemed vicious, it would have been plastered in that article.

The town where I live if u have a pit it has to be locked up at all times, if u walk it it must have a leash and a muzzle, and it cant be outside alone and there is something else really stupid but I forgot...its a dog not a criminal

I have been to the end of the internet and back, and let me tell you it is very possible that a dog could do this to a child, with no help.

BUT..... it must have been a learned behavior. My dh said the dog must have been "taught" to do that. Not to a child, but more like a sick fantasy type thing an adult did. Make sense??

goldilockz
08-03-2007, 03:08 PM
Yeah, that makes total sense. I don't doubt it can happen, I just doubt that it wasn't a learned behavior.

I think you have a real point, Kat, that it was some sick thing that the mother or something does and the kid was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I don't doubt that it could happen, but I have doubts that it happened without any help within the short amount of time they said it happened in.

Yup :( Poor little guy. Such a sick thing to happen. I hope truth comes out.
