Casey 08-03-2007, 08:28 PM I dont have a certain "cookbook" cuz mine is just a 3 ring binder filled with old family recipes. Some are almost 75 years old! But Toby has the Jeff Foxworthy redneck cookbook and he likes that one! And the Racheal Ray cookbooks are nice! Was there a certain recipe you were looking for? Nah...just a good starter cookbook with lots of different kinds of recipes. You're lucky to have so many family recipes...that is really cool! Casey 08-03-2007, 08:45 PM Thanks! I have yet to make most of them though :giggle I think if you want something with a lot of different recipes, I would try the Racheal Ray cookbooks. They have a lot of different variations to some really neat recipes! :thumbsup C'swife 08-03-2007, 08:53 PM I have one from Pampered Chef called "it's good for you" I like it :) Aurora 08-03-2007, 08:58 PM Thanks for the suggestions...I've never actually looked at one of Rachel Rays cookbooks so I'll have to go check one out! erickson007 08-04-2007, 01:17 AM i dont really have cookbooks since a practically live off of allrecipes.com but i love it because you get to read reviews about the recipes from people who have actually made the recipe. so anyways ya i loooove that site! CoffeeGirl 08-04-2007, 01:18 AM Gooseberry patch cookbooks:D:yes terpsichore 08-04-2007, 01:40 AM when i started out in my first apartment, my grandmother got me the big red betty crocker cookbook and the betty crocker cookie book (i like to bake)... my mom, grandma, and aunts all have these books (older editions, obviously) so i guess it's getting to be a tradition. but the best thing i did when i got my own place was photocopy all the family/friend recipes my mom has collected because those recipes are my comfort foods... the things she made most frequently. and comfort foods are great to have when you're starting your own home :) Amber V 08-04-2007, 01:50 AM I love my better homes and gardens cook book. It is the one that has a red and white gingham check on it. All of the recipies are super easy. It is very easy to use and understand. theElephant 08-04-2007, 02:09 AM I have the BH&G and a family one DakotaCowgirl 08-04-2007, 09:58 AM I use the one that my home town created, a family cook book, and old family reciepies. I would say get a betty crocker one. Those tend to be good and easy. Aurora 08-04-2007, 07:23 PM Thanks for the suggestions. I believe my mom has the betty crocker one ...perhaps I'll "borrow" it when I go home this weekend :giggle |
