I know you are probably sick of me singing the praises of southern Maine... but i love it :lol

Anyway, i have been sitting here trying to brainstorm some low cost fun things you can do :)
If I had a chance to live there for 6 months I'd be in heaven.

Anyway, I am going to be up there this weekend and I will try to think of more fun stuff :D

here goes...

the food is overpriced, so the restaurant is not the best way to get more bang for your buck. BUT, I bet Alex and probably Cameron would get an absolute kick out of getting penny candy! even giving each of them a dollar would go pretty far in getting some candy PLUS, you can watch taffy getting made, and honestly I still find that to be totally cool!

(also, even when the store looks crowded, the side entrance by the penny candy counter is never clogged up and usually you'll only have maybe 2 kids ahead of you)

take them up to the nubble! a fun thing to do is go to Brown's Ice Cream (on the way to the nubble) and then take it up and eat it by the light house.

I know you don't live in York, but it is SO CLOSE, and only the like 5th best place on earth!
I know they offer a free concert series in the park, I can get the schedule from my gma saturday.

Live it up! :hugs

I did lots of things up here growing up since I grew up only 1 1/2 hours away. I guess I just don't like living here :lol

I found the Zoo's website.. It would be roughly $40 just for us to do the zoo... Then of course wed need food. Just a little too expensive for us :(

Sarah, here is the site for the Maine Wildlife Park (formerly the Gray Aniaml Farm). It is about an hour away from where you are, but the prices aren't bad and it's educational. They even have an area with grills so that you can bring a cooler with your own lunch.

Hope you don't think we're trying to push Maine on you too much, I'm just trying to help think of some things to do in the area that aren't super expesnive and that are kid friendly.

(directions as well as info on what kinds of activities and animals they have are all in the menu bar on the left)

http://www.trolleymuseum.org/index.html

kids 5 and under are free, and it is unlimited rides

A little more expensive ($7 per person over age 1) but definitely kid oriented.

Okay, I'll stop now, promise!:blush
