Hello all. Just a few words to introduce myself.
I'm in love with a Navy boy who'se been deployed to Afghanistan. It was a whirlwind completely unexpected romance - I work in peacebuilding and came out of a war-zone mission for a conference. We were speaking on all the same panels and despite all my best intentions I fell for him... 3 months later he got his orders and 5 months later we were oceans apart.
Its a day by day thing at the moment - some days break my heart and others I think it was meant to be....

Oh honey I feel you. I wanted my DB so badly, but the whole military thing made me keep just enough distance to not get attached. After he got home from his first tour, I felt like it was all gravy now, and I wouldn't have to worry about the military thing anymore. But no... he got deployed again :gaah but, our love is strong, and keeps getting stronger through all of this :smitten

Yep never would have dreamt I'd be dating a military boy - its like pre-planning a life of anxiety and separation! Sigh. Must be karma.

I know, right!? But at least you get to experience multiple honeymoon stages. 'Normal' couples don't get that ;)
