I am so excited January 7 is our mid cruise luau and I am starting to feel like it won't be too much longer until he is with me again. But I do have some questions I heard about a first kiss drawing where theres a drawing so the winners spouse gets off the ship first. How does this work is there just one huge drawing where everyone gets a ticket or is it broke down into smaller groups? Do I even have a chance and can you only get one ticket? If anyone knows anything about this im still a new navy wife and I have no clue about most of everything im doing !!!

i know the ship that we were with last, they sold raffle tickets throughout the deployment. you could buy as many as you wanted to. we were with an amphib, so they drew 10 winners. it's different with every command.

They did it when dh was on a ship too but I delivered our 1st baby while he was deployed so I didn't have to worry about it. He was the 1st off the ship anyway :D
I would have bought some had I not had the baby though.

I know for DH's boat when it came to WA (didn't go cause I was still in Guam) they sold raffle tickets for First kiss and then one for families with kids for whose daddy would get of as one of the first.

last year when my dh came home you actually had to attend the command support group functions to get you name in the drawing for it say you went to 8 of the functions including meetings a special parties your name would be in 8 times some might not like the way they did that but I was involved with the group anyway so it didnt bother me

that kind of sucks for the ones that don't live there though.
Not sure how that would go over. Maybe as long as they gave other oportunities for those that are away
