hello all!

i'm gonna try this out....i'm a navy girlfriend who just moved from michigan to seattle to FINALLY live close to my b/f, who is w/ the Stennis. we've been friends since last spring & dating since last fall. we were brought together originally by our love of the ford mustang (i have one, he has three), and slowly discovered we are a perfect match. awww.

i started apply for jobs in the seattle area, hoping i might get some looks and maybe have something by thanksgiving time when i originally planned to make the move out here...instead, i had a job offer in mid june & moved here in early july. i'm happy to have a great job w/ one of the local universities and am bursting out my skin for the b/f to be home.

i am also a army granddaughter, army daughter, and my brother is currently serving in the army.

Welcome! Hope you like it here!!

yes, i absolutley love it! i haven't been out to do too much yet, because i didn't get a sign on bonus or relocation w/ my job, so my finances were tight, plus i really want will to be able to show me around. he is originally from this area, so he has a lot of special places to share with me.

i've been teasing my relatives back in michigan who've been enduring a heat wave for the last week or so. as i was driving across wa in the 100 degree weather i couldn't figure out why radio stations were making such a fuss about the heat...once i got here i learned that kinda weather is VERY uncommon. in mi, hot & sticky is quite normal in the summer.

yep it's very uncommon to be that warm around here. also alot of places don't have air conditioning which is another huge deal

most people in mi don't have a/c either. i'm used to just dealing, so those first few hot days i was here was no big deal to me. i'm quite anxious to see what your winters are like. i'm used to navigating thru LOTS of snow in a rear wheel drive car.

my roommates laugh & call me a tourist because everytime i see a sight, i gasp & get all excite. i still haven't gotten over the view of mt ranier.

that's okay my hubby and i have been here since jan. and we still get all ooooooooooooo look at mt. ranier--we are from texas. it snowed twice this past jan/feb here on this side of the sound (the silverdale area). it gets chilly but not as much snow as in MI. the winters are dreary, rains alot.

Welcome, I am on the South end of Whidbey Island, about 40 miles North of Seattle. Glad you are enjoying what little you have seen so far of the area. How long is your DB stationed here?

i don't work downtown, but i do work in seattle. i try not to mention where exactly i work online, because i was fired for blogging from home before. i live in renton/skyway & db lives w/ his parents out near maple valley, tho still a renton mailing address. i suspect we'll move in together sometime soon & it'll prolly be in the renton area. i like renton.

Oh I don't blame you for not wanting to post your place of employment. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have assumed you meant downtown :doh

At any rate, Renton is a nice area too. DH has orders to Everett and we'll be moving up there early next year. Stick around and maybe we can be friends :lol
