I don't think that's such a bad thing, honestly. For the people that are still alive, yes. But it is not uncommon for soul mates to pass very close together and I'm sure that she is probably happy to be out of pain both physically and emotionally. I'm sure she is in a MUCH better place.

SHORT HILLS, New Jersey (AP) -- Dana Reeve, who fought for better treatments and possible cures for paralysis through the Christopher Reeve Foundation, named for her late actor-husband, has died, the foundation said. She was 44.

Reeve died late Monday of lung cancer, said Kathy Lewis, President and CEO of the foundation.

"On behalf of the entire Board of Directors and staff of the Christopher Reeve Foundation, we are extremely saddened by the death of Dana Reeve, whose grace and courage under the most difficult of circumstances was a source of comfort and inspiration to all of us," Lewis said in a statement.

That's true, but that family has been through so much already - their poor son - he's only 13! :( You just don't expect it from a couple in their 40s.

I understand how hard it would be for the son but by age 14, I think most kids are mature enough to understand how much better it is for your mom to be out of pain and not suffering. I do agree it's a very hard thing to go through no matter what. :(

What's saddest is, she didn't get lung cancer from smoking. . .she had a rare, heritable form.

They (Christopher and Dana) only had 1 child. Will, who is 13 years old right now.

That must be so hard on him right now :(
