How many have had which type of labor? What do you plan on having?

I had an epi with Anya and hated it. I ended up having a reaction to it making me sick for days later. With Schyular I had a natural and loved every single minute of it. Timmy was a I dont know. I went to Camp Lejeune hospital in labor, the nurse said Ill give you something to numb the pain when I was at 7 cm and the next thing I know I was in recovery with Timmy next to me :tears :no

I really really want to go the Bradley method again this time around so we shall see. Im determined to stay away from the drugs :lol

With MacKray I was determined to do it naturally but after 30 hours of induced labor I got an epi and never felt anything else.

With Bradley I went into it knowing I wanted a epi and got it when I was ready (at 5cm when they broke my water) I went to 7 feeling great and then it stopped and I finished out my labor naturally.

epidural the first time, and DEFINITELY will do it again!

Jaxon- induced labor for three days... had narcotics which made me extremely ill, 3 epi's and none of them took at all, then finally had a spinal when the dipshit doctors at NAS JAX realized the he was still at +2 and not coming down any further :rolleyes

Shelby- went into labor on my own, then got a spinal right before they did my C Section.

This one- I have no clue what I'm going to do yet. My docs really discourage VBAC so I don't know if I will end up trying one or not. If I do, I don't know what I will do for pain relief. If I end up with another C Section then obviously I will have a spinal.

I was induced with both of my kids so I had an epidural.

If things had gone my way, it would have been drug-free with DS & a drug-free water homebirth with DD.

Let me see.....

Michel- went into labor on my own, then it stopped so I was given Pitocin..I had one shot of pain medicine.

Miranda- went into labor on my own and again it stopped so I had pit again...no pain meds.

Devan- I was induced at 38 weeks...labor was very hard and fast..no meds.

Robby- I was induced at 40 weeks....had him before they could get the epi done!!

had a spinal with madison because she was a c-section.

hayden i had natural and i'm really glad i did. there was one point when i wasn't sure if i could make it, mostly because i was so tired. but i sucked it up, and my mom and jason were there to encourage me. the nurses were very encouraging too. that helped loads. of course then i tore so bad that i had to have pain meds for them to stitch me up and those knocked me out!

Went in at 41w and 4 days in labor. They gave me something to help me sleep since I hadnt slept in 2 days. My contractions started to let up so they started pitocin. They gave me an epi...Didnt work :shock Did it again...DWorked for about half an hour :shock Gave it to me a 3rd time...Didnt work :nutts :nutts So no drugs, no pain management and time to push and I tore after pushing for 2 hours. Ethan was just too big for me. They knocked me out with general and took him via section. So partially natural tho not by choice :lmao

I think I'll probably take the epi. Depends on how everythings goes.

I'd like the epidural, i don't have any desire to do it natural. so we'll see...

Epidural with my first and natural for my second.

With Breanna I was told I had to get an epi so at 4cm. I got one. If I could go back I would tell them to kiss my ass. I was so numb by the time she came I was so out of it from the drugs the delivery was kind of a blur. I also started having back problkems after her, too. I have been on Naproxen and Celebrex trying to help it.

With Johnny I decided to go all natural. I got to 6cm. when my OB broke my water. I had the first contraction afterwards and I said to hell with that idea. I'm so glad I got the epi. cause I ended up having to push for almost 2 hours cause my OB refused to cut me. I'm glad she didn't cause recovery was much quicker but I never would have made it if I hadn't had the epi.

Ashtin~ Had an Epi. right away. got some sleep didn't feel a thing, not even when I had to push.

Gavin~ I was only in labor for 2 hours when I got to the Hospital i was alrady 9cm. It was too late. I gave birth to him about 30 mins after I got there.

I actually liked not having an Epi. With Ashtin I couldn't feel anything for hours after wards, coulsn't get up and go to the bathroom,couldn't walk around. And with Gavin I got up right way,and went over to him in the warmer to comfort him. Yes it hurt like Hell. But Ithink I'll try to go natural with our next one.

i was induced with z and they gave me an epi at 2 cms... i was stuck at 2 for about 16 hours and then just as the pitocin kicked in and i was at a 4, it wore off and they couldnt get it to work again for me... i went from 4 to 10 in about 25 minutes and had her shortly after... i'd definitely do the epi again... those 16 hours were bliss.

I had epidurals with both Katryvna and Cadence and loved it!!!! With little Skye I had to have her natural, and believe me, never again.

DRUGS!!! I had an epidural for both. One c-section and the other VBAC. I would choose epidural in a heartbeat if I were to have another child. I am not one of those woman who can tell you "it wasn't that bad" or "I can't remember what it felt like". You could probably hear me yelling from outside of the hospital...especially after the nurse said "wow..your contractions are unusually long and unusually strong"....roflmao. I probably would have passed out in pain if I didn't have anything.

I hear a lot of people saying that their docs are strongly against VBACs but my doctor strongly encouraged all of her patients to go this route if they were able to. She was awesome!

I think I'm starting to get more scared about having a possible c-section than giving birth...

Not that I'm scared of having it, but just scared of having surgery, period! I don't think my life will be endangered or anything, but just the fact of not KNOWING what will happen during a c-section...At least for a vaginal, it's pretty self explanatory, lol.

The first 2 were 100% natural. #3 was a c-section and I had the spinal. #4 was a VBAC, and I got the epidural that kicked in about 10 minutes AFTER he was born. #5 & #6 were via C-section. This one will be also, as #5 They cut me vertical and my previous uterine incision was horizonal. I wish I could have a VBAC again. :no

with ds I had an epidural & thank GOD I did ! dd came so fast there was no time & she came out natural,Of course, she was bigger than her brother too:scared OUCH!!!

I went completely natural for Alex and everything was great.

Cameron, I was in hard, induced (sorta induced) labor for over 24 hours and wouldn't dialate past 7cm and was advised to get an epi which I did and I then dialated fully and was ready to push in less than 20 minutes. The doctors told me that I wasn't dialating because my body was too tense from the pain.

Wyatt, I went in and decided to go as long as I could without an epi or drugs, but would get an epi when the pain started to bother me because I didn't want to be in labor for SO long like I was for Cameron.

I HATE getting the epidurals btw.. I can't stand not being able to move my legs for hours after giving birth. BUT they were better than being in labor for days OR ending up having to have a c-section.

Im planning natural as long as everything is fine :)

I could not do it without the epideral.

I had epidurals with both mine..but then again I had to have C-sections both times!! With Q though it had got to the point where they thought they may have to knock me out because the epidural was not taking!

all i will say is drugs are really good.

josh my oldest who is now 19 - had him natural and he weighed 11 lbs 2 oz
i didnt like having him natural i can tell you that. oh i was only in labor with him from the time i got to the hospital 2 1/2 hours

jordan my second oldest now 18- had him with an epi and he weighed 9 lbs 2 oz and it was sooooooooo much nicer. same with jordan from the time i got to the hospital 2 1/2 hours


robbie- my baby lol now 3- was induced and had an epi and it took longer for me to have him since i hadnt really dialated much but since i had the gestational diabetes and was on insulin they went ahead and took him 2 weeks early. robbie weighed 7 lbs 10 oz. and towards the end when he was just about to come out my epi started wearing off and i needed more drugs LOL.


drugs for me. but i hate having to take them. but after having josh natural i just thought ever time i had a baby it was gonna be that bad.

No Rach i was crazy not strong. I even tried lamaze and that didnt work either, in fact the nurse was trying to make be breath and i just wanted to scream LOL and yes if it wasnt for me taking the insulin shots or them taking robbie a bit early he would have been alot bigger. :lol

oh and Rach you want to know the funny thing about it , is that even though both of my older boys were exactly 2 lbs apart in birth weight. when they started growing up they werent. Josh got really big and jordan was really thin and has his dads metabolism. it took us what seemed like forever to get him to 100 lbs. josh on the other hand didnt take long at all. robbie is kinda like jordan and my DH now. My DH when he was growing up was a bean pole and after he got older after he got married the first time i guess he started to pick up weight.

what is a VBAC? I never heard if it. This is my first pregnancy.

VBAC is vaginal birth after c-section

I went natural with my son and had and epidural with my daughter. If we have another I will have another epidural
