Hey, I met this guy just three weeks before deployment and we had our time together before he headed off for his week of training and we talked everyday while he was training. Just this past tuesday he finally left for his 10 months in Iraq. He said he really really wants to make this work and he looks forward to his 2 weeks of R&R and spending them together. He even talks about how he'll come to me when he's out while I'm finishing school. He wants us to be together once he's home and know that he has someone to come to home for the first time since he joined 4 years ago. I have emailed him each day since he left but I'm still anxiously awaiting a response to at least know that he's ok... I don't know what to do with this whole situation since we only knew each other for 3 weeks before he left but things seem different with him and it doesn't feel like it was only 3 weeks. Also, how often will he able to email or call while he's there? He's in the navy if that makes a difference. I'm just new to all of this and a bit confused. I sometimes think I sound crazy and maybe I am but that's just me I guess. Thanks for listening to my rambling... :confuzzle

Naval communications can be hard... it depends on the command, unfortunately its a hurry up and wait game!

hurry up and wait...the worst/most favorite motto of the military world...hope you hear from him soon! if you got a good one, you don't want to let it go, even if he is in iraq! i was only with DF for a short period of time before he deployed too, so PM me if you need to talk! :) :hugs

I met DB like three and a half weeks before he left too. He's been gone for like five and a half months now. I write often and send packages, he should be getting one any day now. I am so excited:jump4joy. Can't wait to see what he thinks. I kinda wing these packages because I don't know what he likes yet. Anyway, feel free to PM me I will be glad to listen or give advice.

thanks everyone! I finally got an email today to let me know that he's ok! Luckily he's got wireless so as long as he's at camp he can check his email and write back. :D
