I am a southern girl & my cast iron was my great-great-grandmother's so it means a lot to me. The normal things I cook in it are any meat and of course cornbread but I also use it for stir-fry, pasta bakes, chicken pot pie (but my g'ma is the only one who is really succesful at that one!), mexican, on & on & on. They are great- just remember- do NOT use soap until it is VERY well seasoned & even then only the littlest bit on really crusted on stuff. Also a tip for preservation- after you have washed it heat it on med/high on the stove until the leftover water drys out & the remove & allow to cool. Oh! and DON'T EVER put it under water while it is still hot. Sorry that is so long- I was raised on cast iron & probably know way to much about them! ENJOY!
