Hi everyone! I'm having a rough day and I miss my soldier like crazy!!!! I wish that I could talk with my soldier though I know that it isn't possible... I've been writing him letters every day - hoping that they'll make me feel better about not being able to talk with him, but it seems like it makes me feel worse... I'm also trying to put together a care package to send to Iraq. Does anyone have any suggestions as to good things to send over? I'm still new at this and drawing a blank other than some of the more obvious stuff like pictures, and other personal effects from home. Any and all help is greatly appreciated... thanks for letting me vent!! :)

Hey! I know it's hard, but what may help is if you think about how happy your SO will be when gets all the letters and the care package.

There's so may things you can send him. I remember my SO telling me he lived off of M&M's he had gotten from home. This deployment, he said I need to send him socks, since he really wanted them out there and nobody ever sent him socks. :P It really depends on your SO.

I know it's hard to write him the letters without missing him, but you're going to make him SOOO happy, that it will all be worth it.

Just take it easy, hon, and you have a whole forum of people you can talk to if you really feel blue. ;)

Oh honey I'm right there with you. My SO is over in Iraq too. I miss him like crazy. He likes when I send him really random cute little things like yesterday I made a mini poster with the top ten reasons why I love him. He's said that the cute little stupid stuff I do really helps him make it through while he's over there. Stay strong. I know it's hard but just remember how much better it'll be seeing him again after he's been gone for that long. :hugs

I went to target and picked out everything that I thought would 1) not spoil and 2) he would love... I did the "perfume on a shirt" thing and put it in a ziplock to keep the smell... hehe

I'm sorry you're sad.. I wish there was a way to cure the sadness. :bigsadhug:bigsadhug:bigsadhug:bigsadhug

I found this website to be really helpful with care packages. http://operationmilitarypride.org/packages.html

It's always tough and you will have your ups and downs but you do adjust(at least to a certain degree).
