So in the past few days talking to DF, there has been some interesting things going on...

1. He tells me that after getting back from the sandbox in March, he is set to deploy again in July. Ok, this can change, moving on...

2. Apparently he has been talking to the guys in his truck about reenlisting/officer school/getting out all together. He tells me that he thinks he should just get out of the Marines after his enlistment is up, go back to school at the private college he started at (i.e. GI Bill wouldn't pay for it since it's private), graduate, get a job, and raise a family with me. I guess they have been talking about it and he realized that it wasn't really my choice (because he joined before we were together) and he didn't think it was fair to me to have to deal with moving all the time, raising a family essentially on my own, etc. Originally he wanted to do the 20-year plan, go to flight school, and be a pilot in the military. Now, as sweet as him thinking about me is, I tell him (and it's true) that I will be with him no matter what he does, and I just want him to be happy.

(Any ladies have info on GI Bill paying for private college, difficulty of getting a flight program, that whole process, or anything useful about this one?)

LASTLY...I got a package from DF today, but didn't get it because I was at work...so now I have to wake up nice and early and go pick it up at the post office! :):):):):cp:cp:cp:lmao:lmao:lmao:D:D:D:P:P:P

Wow that sounds great that he is wanting to settle down with you...congrats

also I know a guy who left MC and transfered to be a Army Reservist so he could still retire and have the stable home life...did he give that any consideration? Best of both worlds.

Unfortunately he is kind of a Marine Corps snob...haha...Once a Marine, always a Marine, or something stupid like that...:lol

I'd look more into the GI bill thing, my honey is getting out soon and is looking at a number of different schools and I don't think it makes a difference if hes goes to a state college or a private one. I think he has a set dollar amount he can use to go to school. B/c the GI Bill will also help men & women get into other training programs and apprentice programs....
