How do you find a decent babysitter around here? We've always had friends/family at every station so far that we trusted to watch our girl(s), except this one. It's not really an issue this very second because DH is on a workup, but when he gets back and before he goes on deployment, it would be great to have a trustworthy sitter so we could go to dinner on our own.

So, any ideas on where to go/look? Anybody have any names they would like to share? Thaaaaaanks! :)

There is a site babysitters.com and they have qualified ppl that u can pick from in your area..they do back ground checks and everything..all of the sitters have to pay to be on the site, so usually only the ones who are serious about their job will do it.

good question i need a sitter so DH and i can go out for a night for dinner and a movie before cruise and we are in VA Beach we don't want to drive all the way up to Norfolk.

Again, I am in Newport News and I don't mind helping out. I am not a psycho, I promise.:lol

how far from VA Beach are ya girly? after DH leaves i will also help out for appointments and such. i know how much it sucks being new to an area and not knowing anyone or trusting anyone yet..

I use the teens at my church to watch my kids. Sorry that I'm not much help.
