I am a new military wife and my husband just left for training. I know its only a matter of months til he comes home (his training is so long:worried) but I miss him so much. I mean I come home and theres no one here and I see all his stuff and its just so hard. Then to think this will be a regualr occurence as he goes further in his army career and is gone for longer periods. Bascially, this just sucks~!!!!I wish he was home:depressed. So does it get easier? How do I pass the time quicker? ANy tips?

it doesn't get any easier to have them gone but i say stay busy and it helps a TON. ETA: you get used to it but you still miss them

It gets easier so long as you don't wallow in the misery you feel now. You have to stand up and keep your head up and keep busy. Otherwise, you'll find yourself staying in bed all day feeling sorry for yourself.

it doesnt get that much easier until a couple days b4 u get them back:) when im here and nics down south i work as much as possible because im a workaholic and i sleep alot:) and i talk to people who know what ur going through because otherss...will either give u fake sympathy or tell u they know how it feels when they dont and it just makes me personally feel worse:) so stick to girls on here and family for advice:P thas just my opinion though:)

It never gets easier, but find ways to deal. Stay busy is my advice. And every time I start to get hysterical, I always tell myself that he wants me to be strong and not freak out. My DH is done too, so if you need anything, PM me!

Also, do not count days on the calendar, count paydays, there are less of them and it does help with the time factor other then what the ladies have already said. I count paydays and I crossed off the last one on the dry erase board!

i always diagree with others on this topic. I DO think it gets a hell of alot easier. i, for one, fought my dh joining the military tooth and nail. now i don't mind so much and the time without him gets easier. i focus on the things i want to accomplish while he's gone.

i hope it gets easier for you too! :hugs
