View Full Version : Corny?
tifflovezyou 08-18-2007, 03:36 PM Ok, so as many of you know.. DF will be home soon.:D Due to money issues and the fact that were going to be moving, it isnt practical for me to fly up there for his actual homecoming:sadeyes.
He will be driving down here as soon as possible. (In about 2 weeksish):cp
So my question is this.. He doesnt have anyone thats going to pick him up or do anything all that special when he arrives in the states.. So I was thinking of getting a "Welcome Home" banner for my apartment.:confuzzle Make sure he knows we support him, etc.
So you think it would be corny? Or a good idea?:confuzzle Seeing as he'll have been home here in the states already...??
Thanks for the input in advance!

When my friend's hubby came home from Iraq, she went to pick him up... and while they were gone, I decorated their porch with balloons & streamers & welcome home signs... they both loved it :)
I wish I had a place to do that for DB, lol...

CoffeeGirl 08-18-2007, 09:51 PM Not corny at all sweety-What a great way for him to know that not only is he welcomed home but into your life as well!:yes- do it!!
kristyw94 08-19-2007, 07:50 AM I think he would love it. This is exactly why I always do something for the single guys in our unit when they come back. Me and a couple other friends make signs for each one, and we cook them a home cooked meal to take to the barracks with them so they have one less thing to worry about upon arrival.
proudofmysailor 08-19-2007, 09:18 AM I think that's a great idea, not corny at all! He will really appreciate what you do.
The Megster 08-19-2007, 10:40 AM Def do something. You are his new "Home"....Welcome him to you.
CAmom4721 08-19-2007, 06:26 PM That's such a cute idea!! I would definitely do it. :yes

CAmom4721 08-19-2007, 08:04 PM Good!! You'll have to let us know how it goes over but I am so sure he's gonna love it! It's really such a sweet idea.
SchlegelsBaby 08-19-2007, 08:26 PM I think it's a great idea Tiff. That's what I plan on doing for Andy when he comes to our home here in Ohio. Granted, I will be there for his homecoming, but that's for there.
Miss B Hav'n 08-19-2007, 08:31 PM Not corny in the slightest. When DH came home from Desert Storm (boy, am I dating him or what, lol) he was stateside for about a week prior to being able to make the trip "home". His family (this was well before we even knew each other) had a full-blown "Welcome Home" for him at the airport complete with signs, etc and it is a memory they all treasure to this day.
Julianne 08-23-2007, 09:33 AM my b/f wouldn't be too pleased to come home to something like that... he would like it better if it was just written on my boobies.
but you know your man better than we do, so go with your gut honey! :)
