I love the playtex drop-ins, they are great and less scrubbing the bottles out, just through the liners away. You can also get the kit where you can express straight into them.

Honestly, I wouldn't stock up on any one kind until after the baby comes and you figure out what he/she likes. I would buy a few each of different bottles and nipples, find out what the baby likes, then stock up. I know that babies can be picky and different bottles can affect their eating, tummies different ways and it can be frustrating and a waste of money.

Keep in mind that babies have preferences. So I would only buy a couple to start. I stocked up on avents and Ethan hated em. Same with Ashley. I had to switch bottles. So I would buy a couple and go from there

Soooo true, with DD we bought some expensive Gerber kind because it said they were the best, blah blah blah. She wouldnt take them. They were like 4 bucks for ONE bottle. She ended up taking the ones that were like 3 for 2 something.

I used to like the ventaire..but now they make more of a mess than anything..I just don't like the nipples that come with it because more of it gets on him than in his belly. lol but other than that I like them they help so I dont have to keep pulling it out of his mouth because of all the suction and all that.

The Playtex drop ins where my favorite too :D
I also had the Vent-air and liked them too... Jer prefered the wide nipples.

I agree with what Kristi and some others said about babies preference.

When I pump and hubby feeds Lane he will only use a gerber bottle because it has the smallest nipple. The other 4 bottles we tried wth him made him gag!

We used those(the vent aire) with the wide nipple, as well as the platex dropins and the gerber NUK bottles. I liked them all, until Preston started drinking 6oz. The drop ins were hard to shake up and you had to be careful when putting scoops in so the water didn't overflow. Those bottles only went to I think 8oz, where the other two go to 10oz. I probably would have gotten more Avent ones though if I would have known about the interchangable sippy spouts. You can buy the spouts seperately and they fit on the bottles to convert them into sippy cups.

We only used the Ventaire and loved them. The extra little piece in the bottom is no big deal, if you have a dishwasher, you should get one of these:

That little basket kept everything together and now we use it for sippy tops.

They also make different stage nipples, DD was on the AR formula for the longest and it's thick so we had to use Stage 2 but with regular milk, etc, Stage 1 works better.

We had a couple others we got as shower gifts but DD didn't like them so we tossed 'em.

Anthony only get bottles when I work but we use the evenflo glass bottles with medela nipples.....the chemicals the plastics give off freak me out.....

DH had one from when he picked the kids up the other night when I worked (they were at my moms) and he forgot a bottle in the van, I found it and accidentaly dropped it in the parking lot from the seat of the van and its fine, no chips or anything.....woo hoo!

i suggest waiting until the baby is here before you stock up on bottles. babies actually due tend to prefer a certain brand over another... and you really don't need a TON of bottles, you can wash them :)

I have friends that hated them, leaking problems. I always liked the playtex drop in bottles the best. Darian loved them, and out of all the bottles they caused the least gas.

Corran used them and never had any problem. He was never gassy beyond whats to be expected. And it all fits right into your basket for the dishwasher nicely. i love em and will prob use those or the MAM ones next time. I never had a leaking problem with mine. You just have to make sure you put it together right but its totaly not that hard ot takes anymor etime than usual.
