My best friend will never let me live my funny story down :lol

The doctor came in the check me at one point, and I was FINALLY fully dialated. But he said the baby's head was still pretty far up, so he would come back in like half an hour to check me again and see if I was ready to push. Ok....not even 5 minutes after he walked out, I looked at John and said I felt like I had to push. My family kept telling me I wasn't ready and not to push until the doctor came back :lol Riiiiight!

I kept trying to tell them I didn't WANT to push, but I HAD to push. I swear I couldn't control it. It was like someone smacked me on top of the head and the force of it was passing through my body :rofl So as I am gripping the sides of the bed "trying not to push" but actually pushing, John ran to get the doctor, and my best friend keeps yelling "MICHELLE, DON'T PUSH! ARE YOU PUSHING???"

And as my face turns red and I push, I shake my head and say, "I'm NOT pushing I swear!" :lol About 5 pushes later she was out.

I showed that doctor!! :rofl

Not my story but . . . After my mom had been in labor with me for 16 hrs. and wasn't really making any progress the Dr. told my dad to take her to the mall near the hospital & let her walk around & to buy her a nice gift. As they were walking around at least a dozen people came up to my dad and pulled him aside to tell him "I think your wife is in labor you might want to take her to the hospital." :lol To this day it still cracks them up because I wasn't born for two more days! (yeah I was a little stubborn)

The one thing that stands out to me that I said was
I was right in the middle of labor (pushing) and I was watching the news I guess as a focus. Well the guy On tv was fishing and had just caught a bass, and right after a BIG push I looked at dh and said, you know we really should go fishing sometime soon. Everyone looked at me and started laughing, and the nurse said "Well it looks like someones epidural is working".

Before I got my epidural and was having really bad contractions DH was holding my hand telling me to breathe through each contraction. Well at one point I just got fed up with him telling me to breathe, like I dont know how to. So I told him, let me punch you in the balls and tell you to breathe and we will see how easily you can do that!! After about 5 minutes, everyone who was in my room, had left. :giggle

With my first, they accidentally gave me too much stadol, and when I woke up crowning, I had no idea I was pregnant.

With my second, me and the nurse were not getting along at all, and right as I started crowning, she told me to stop pushing and left the room. I said eff her and told my hubby he better get down there and catch. He did, and the doctor walked in to see my hubby holding the baby.

With my 3rd, I had something weird going on. When the nurse came in to put in my IV, my arm started spurting blood and got blood all over the room (it shot like 4 ft away), she completely freaked out and was too nervous to put my IV in after that, she had to call someone else. Then, my body kept producing a lot of sac fluid even after my water broke. So the whole time I was in the delivery room afterwards (like 9 hours), I kept leaking water. They had to get the maid in twice to clean the floor so no one slipped.

Hmmm...
First baby my husband and I had gotten married in Hawaii and the only family member on my side who met him was my brother. So, I ama staying with my parents in Texas after I am discharged from the Navy and pregnant with our first baby. Rod was in California on a det. I went into labor and called to let him know about it. His command let him have emergency baby leave to come to Texas for the birth. I am in labor so long that he was able to fly from California to Texas and it was still nearly 24 hours before I gave birth. Anyhow, my stepdad picked Rod up at the airport, and it was the first time they had met. Rod walks into the hospital room and reeks of rum. I about had a coniption (SP) fit right there, chewing him out about being drunk...he wasn't of course, but when the stewardess had asked him about why he was so nervous looking and he told her he was flying to meet his first born child, the passengers around him all bought him a drink to celebrate. So, his first meeting with all my family members was me in labor and him smelling like a bottle of Bacardi....hehe....

During my third labor, I refused to progress, staying at about 2 cm forever - really abotu 13 hours. Well, they wouldn't give me an epidural at that point, but gave me a shot of Demerol to take the edge off. You still feel it, but you don't care. About an hour after the shot, I started coming out of it and told Rod that I either had to push or I had to pooh....he just pats my hand and said, "Honey, they just checked you and you weren't even 3 sm yet." I told him he had better get the D#*m nurse or I would punch him...so, he did. She tells me the same as him and I tell her if she doesn't check me, I am going to scream big obsenities until the dr. comes in. She finally decides to check me, just to satisfy me and leans up and says, "Oh my goodness, you weren't kidding! You are ready to have this baby!" Needless to say, I wasn't happy because I hadn't had the epidural yet, so I am screaming at them and not nice words, while they are telling me to "Just breathe..." in a very calm manner, wheeling me down the hallway, feet up and everyone viewing what I had to offer the world....Get into the delivery room, my feet in the stirups as fast as they could and as soon as the doctor said "Push", She popped out. Second push, the placenta came out. I felt so good after that! Haha....

I made all sorts of jokes during the whole thing and when it came time to push I said, "Thank God finally!" I kept asking how long it would take and the nurses kept telling me they didn't know, I told them to make something up. Then after Hayden was born I asked them if the dining room was still open because I was starving and wanted dinner.

Well they had to do quite a bit of stitching so they put something in my IV that knocked me out into acid trip land so no dinner :( When I came to enough to be coherent I asked them for food again, I literally begged :lol They finally gave in and got me a snack.

With Aiden, they gave me demoral (sp?) and I was all loopy, but I noticed the new wallpaper in the room was the same as a diner my husband and I frequented so I said, "OMG! This wallpaper in here is the same as the Diner's ladies bathroom!!" then I threw up. :lmao

With Gwen my sister showed up RIGHT in that 1/2 hour I went from 6cm to pushing! I scarred her for life! :lmao

With Kilian I was made to wait for HOURS while in labor, for a triage room. (must have been a full moon) When I did finally get a room and I was 10 cm, there were NO dr's available to deliver him!!! :shock So I had to not push at all, but if he came- the nurses were going to have to deliver him! :shock The whole time I was telling the nurses and my dh- "JESUS CHRIST! Why are they screaming?! It's not THAT bad!" Then finally we got a doctor and Kilian was out in 3 pushes.... no screaming. ;)

With my son I told the doctors at Duke University Hospital that they were fucking stupid and they sucked. My mom threatened to wash my mouth out with soap.

Well, the nurse that was assisting me told me to grab my legs, put my chin down to my chest and PUSH... I looked at her and said "IF ITS SO G.D EASY YOU DO IT"

My husband also counted backwards when he was doing the countdown thing.. He was nervous, then again if I had to deal with me in labor.. I would be nervous too :teehee

My Step-Dad by mistake was in the room when Lauren was born, he was totally nervous and telling jokes the whole time.. Finally I screamed "SHUT THE HELL UP DUDE" The nurses all laughed :giggle

My doctor sang and made jokes too :lol I wanted to kick him in the chin, if I could have moved I probably would have.

My mom and sister were with me when I had ds. It was a long, hard labor, I pushed for 3 1/2 half hours (God I hope this next one is quicker!) Anyway, after it is all over my sister says to my mom, "Ummm I think I am going to stick with being an aunt." Guess I scared her :lol

[QUOTE}Wow not a very good nurse. Did she get in trouble?[/QUOTE]

I'm pretty sure she did. She did a lot of things that were inappropriate just to get on my nerves. I guess she didn't know this wasn't my first. There were several trainees in the room, and one of them sided with me and said something to the doctor about some things she was doing before that happened. I didn't see her anymore after she walked out of the room. She was very unprofessional, and that's the main reason we weren't getting along. She started crap with me. I was being quiet because I feared if I opened my mouth I may bite my hubby's hand since he insisted on holding mine. So I don't know what set her off, but I'm sure it wasn't me.

Breanna: I was 4 cm. wanted to wait a bit longer before getting the epi. I thought I was doing good with the contrax until my nurse came in after talking to my dr. and said that he said if I didn't get the pi. soon I would rupture a membrane. I remember looking at John with a puzzled look and asking "Is that bad"?

When I got my epi. John walked around the bed to see what was going on from the front view. He stood about 5-6 feet away from me with this look on his face I will never forget. I wanted someone to hold my hands and was calling for him to come over. The nurse ended up having to hold my hands cause he wouldn't budge.

Evan: Have you seen The Baby Story ( I remember 1 but there may be more) where the dad ran through all those red lights and then got a police escort to the hossy? Well, one of the times John called to check on me at the hossy after he left, I told him I was 4 cm and probably going to deliver that night unlike what we thought. After he got his friend to watch the kids he flew to the hossy, running numerous lights, and just made the birth by 2 minutes.

With DD I had demerol so I was saying all kinds of silly shit. They decided to give me the demerol after the nurse came in and I was swearing and throwing shit at Steve because he was eating Burger King.

With DS, I had no medication because I was already dilated to 8 when I got to the hospital. Here are a couple of conversations I had:

Me: I'm ready for some medication now
Nurse: Let me check you......honey, it's too late, you're already to 8.5 and if we give you anything now, this baby will just fall out. (all this said after she backed away from my bed so I couldn't kick her)
Me: And that's a bad thing how?

Another:

DH was fanning me with a magazine and I swatted it away because it was annoying
DH: Do you want some ice chips?
Me: No
DH: A wet washcloth?
Me: No
DH: (getting frustrated) What do you want?
Me: I want you to shut the fuck up! *said in my outside voice*

i hated to hear mike's voice. if he talked i would yell at him. threw things at him. i didn't want him to touch me. the sight of him made me get sooooooo mad it caused my blood pressure to go up.

but in the final moments right before the c-section we had a moment..
i was in labor for 18 hours, I pushed for 3 hours..and ended with the c-section..
IT WASN'T FUN...but we laugh about it now!

my mom was my labour coach for #1 DS and she was leaning right over me and I felt crowded, so I told her that her breath stunk and she had to go away.
She didn't take offence too much though luckly
