Do they count the hours that you are in labor in your hospital stay?

What do you mean? You mean when people say I was in labor for 36 hours, are they including the hospital stay or just the labor. I was in labor for a week. It just wasn't active labor. They did what they could to slow the contractions down and then it was seldom like once every couple hours I'd feel a contration that was it. But I was in active labor for 8 hours or there abouts. If I included the whole time I was there I would have to say I was in labor for nearly 2 weeks...kwim.
With Ash I was in the hospital for 4 days but not in labor at all. (she was a schduled c-section)

You now people go to the hospital and they are like i was in labor there for ike 7 hours, does that count as part of your hospital stay.

from what i understand, no. it's usually counted once the baby arrives :)

ETA: because the "hospital stay" is to monitor you and the baby after birth :)

No. They start counting when you have the baby.

OHHHHHH ok I get it dur..sorry.
They don't count till the baby is there?? I guess that's if you have a normal birth right? B/c they surely did make us pay for (well make tricare pay..lol) the week I was there before my zach man was born. I'm assuming tho that that was b/c it was so extended and b/c of the situation.

no it does not start until the baby is born. My first birth they told me I could stay an extra day because I didn't get into my room until after 2am. I didn't though I wanted to go home.

My second birth they were asking if I was leaving the first morning after I gave birth. The whole time I was there they kept making me feel unwelcome despite the fact I was a C/S.

BOTH OB's told me the "timer" starts ticking the day after you have the baby for your hospital stay. So day zero you give birth the next day is day one of your hospital stay.

They start counting from the time the baby is born and you can leave around 24hours after if you want.
