Is the Stennis coming home with the Nimitz? Lol, I know nothing! My girlfriend's hubby is on the Nimitz and I know that she is in full homcoming swing! I think they come home sometime late September/early October. But I don't know the exact dates.

I um... :blush.... am lying, small white lie. I told them Daddy would be home one a bit further out then he really is. That way, if he get's delayed for any odd reason, they aren't dissappointed. :giggle Well, I added a whole week. :blush But they will be happy when he walks in the door and there he is. :D And my excuse for the decorations are that you never know when things change, so it's better to be prepared.

We did the same thing when Tony came home cept my lie was bigger. I told his daughter that we should be home before Thanksgiving. So when we showed up at her cheerleading practice in early October she was shocked. She cried and had to stop practicing. It was so cute.

Well, we get to have them home earlier than the boat's homecoming here, because the boat has to steam home, so the day they pull into SD is the day I get to see my DH!!! :giggle They fly home here.

i am super excited. first deployment for db & me too. plus i just moved to seattle from mi. i actually wasn't planning on moving out here til november, but when an unexpectedly good job came thru earlier than planned, i jumped at the chance to get out here. i didn't think i'd be at homecoming. i've met db's fam for the first time w/o him. lol. guess i passed the meet the parents test cuz they keep inviting me over.

i have so much to do b4 he gets home. order the dress on payday (friday), get some last minute things like jewelry, sign making supplies, cookie baking supplies (gonna have a cooler of homemade choc chip cookies & milk in the car for him), nail polish, hope the shoes i ordered got here on time...& so on.

i'm gonna have a small "welcome home FOXY" sign at the pier & probably a banner for his parents & my place. might do something on the car...like "just home from deployment" kinda like a "just married" sign. we are gonna take the ferry back from bremerton because i've never taken it & taking it will give us a lil more alone time til we get to his parents. they are planning a party i guess.

i'm really sad because his parents didn't get their info to him in time, so i'll be the only one on the pier waiting for him. i don't think i'll get bored tho, because i'm way hyped up.

i have a feeling that i'm gonna cry so much that day. happy tears tho. i went to the mariner's game friday night & the coast guard presented the colors. i cried. i'm such a sappy thing. just as long as i don't make him cry.

suffice to say, if you've read all that, i've never been so excited in my life.

i am. disgustingly happy. he sent me some more pics from hong kong today. it's so great to see him w/ a smile on his face & know he's having a good time. he had a few down & blue periods during deployment.

we have sooooooooooooo many plans for when he gets home. since he's a native of this area, he has so many places & things he wants to show me. his favorite spots & all that. essentially, i've just been logging days since moving out here. haven't done too much because i want him to be able to show me everything that's special to him, rather than saying, 'yeah i've been here/there already."

my friends, roommates, & think i'm kinda crazy since i can't really tell them any details...they're all just gonna get pic message of us smooching. ha ha. that should explain everything.

I am, I dont know its hard to explain really. I am excited but it has not hit me yet. Maybe when I hear that ring tone come from my cell phone that is from my wifes cell, the song amazed by lonestar then it will hit home but right now I am kinda waiting until the last minute to do a real deep clean here. I have all this stuff being shipped to me for her so I hope it all arrives soon.

I know once I see her come off that ship I am going to be all sorts of excited. We really have no plans to speak of. We are just taking it as it comes that day that way there is no disappointments on either end. I have a big banner I am hanging outside the house and I will post it in here in the photo section here in a few. Not too much longer and they will be home, WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!

ha ha...i've been waiting to hear db's ringtone too! his is "want to" by sugarland. it's amazing how you can develop a conditioned response to different ringtones.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!!!! We painted the banners for the squadron at the hangar today. I've got to do the one for our house sometime this week. Kayla knows he is coming home soon, but not exactly when. Her and Preston are going to stay the night at my parents since they are coming in late at night/early morning. Since it's a school night I am going to tell her she doesn't have school the next day. Boy is she going to br surprised when we go pick her up!!

there will be media there, well at least in WA I know there will be. I am sure in SD as well. I do not think there will be any kind of announcement of sorts, you just have to know when it is. I just hope Lee Greenwood shows up here in WA like the fun boss mentioned. I would be really surprised if there was an announcement prior to them returning. I do know that the NEX on base here in WA will be open until 9pm vs 7pm the day before and then the day of they will open at 7am vs 9am.

yeah, i will find out the exact times from db's mom, seeings how i will be the only person meeting him because the rest of his fam did not get their identifying info to him on time. i even reminded them!!! i'm still really sad about that. i've never been on base & never even been in that general area before...and i have to drive his beloved car up there to get him. as if i wasn't nervous enuf about driving it, i read somewhere on here there's not lots of parking & obviously there'll be crazy traffic. ahhhhhhhh!

Yes there is not a lot of parking on base. The FRG told me not to get there before 0800 but I am going to take a cab or bus there because of the traffic. I am also going to have the neigbhor help me and get the car on base a couple days before so it is already there. That sucks they wont be able to come but if you reminded them then there is not too much you can do about it now. From what I heard at one of the meetings when the fun boss was here, he had said there will be something like 8,000 people on base just for the homecoming.

I have never been so excited in my life for anything! I am getting increasingly nervous about the parking situation, everyones elses fear of it is adding to mine!

We're having a big dinner at this great restaurant in Puyallup with the whole crazy family. My aunt had a huge welcome home sign made for him but she owns a Pepsi plant so about 1/4 of the sign is the Pepsi logo--come on over and say hi if you see it, I'm guessing NO one is going to miss it its so flipping big.

I don't know if I am going to be able to sleep until I see him!!

Happy (upcoming) Homecoming to everyone. :hi
