:depressedMy hubby just left for basic( well a week ago) but it dosent officially start till later this week. I thought he got one call during the reception battalion but I havent heard anything yet:sigh. So does anyone know anything?

What Basic is he at? My husband is at ft. benning right now in his 7th week. of basic. He did get a couple of calls during reception, but he had to either call collect or use a phone card. He also got a call the first weekend in his basic training battalion to let me know he was there and to give me the address. All other phone calls are earned based on how well the platoon is doing in their exercises and personal accomplishment, and everything is at the mercy of the commander and drill sgts so they are only guaranteed one call the entire basic training. hope this helps

Every experience is different. The majority do make at least one call but it isn't completely unheard of for there to never be a call made/received. I do hope that you get to hear from him !

Still no call but I guess its not best to get my hopes up...But I really hope he calls!
