I know it may be a wee bit early to ask about it the holiday card exchange, but I was wondering if we are going to do it this year?

I look forward to it every year and enjoy giving and getting all the cards, plus Christmas is my favorite holiday :yes I'm ready for it to be here already!

LOL, I keep forgetting that you are moving. Will you be in WA by then? :D How is your house selling process going?

How do we decide who organizes it? Does someone just volunteer? If so, I'd like to volunteer for it. :yes Do we need to vote on it?

Geez, I'm a barrel of questions. :giggle I never paid attention to how it was all put together in previous years, I know I just participated in it. LOL.

I'm up in the air if I'll do it or not. Too many people have backed out in the past, not updated their info, etc.

I'll decide closer to the holidays!

I'll decide about it closer to time.. it all depends on how things are going for us around then.

I might be up for it, depending on how many people, etc.

Exactly... postage is outrageous, so the number of people participating will be a big factor for me too..

I think there were like 70 or 80 people last year.

I know its been suggested in the past to start buying cards & postage early, because of the high number of people participating, it can be costly.

I just (L) to give & receive Christmas cards. I'm a christmas junkie, its totally my favorite holiday.

I have a thought. Instead of everyone sending cards out to the entire group, why don't we split it up into different groups so that everyone still gets cards but you don't have to send out as many? Say split them up into 4 groups (or however many)? After everyone has signed up, you can divide it up into equal (or close to equal) groups in order of the sign up.

That might work, that way everyone's only out about 1 book of stamps!

We won't be to WA until January. Our house selling process is going verrrrrrry sloooooowly.

Usually someone just volunteers to do it - the christmas card exchange isn't too difficult to organize, we just need a central person for everyone to PM their address to , and then that central person has the responsibility of sending pm's to everyone with everyone's addresses :) I don't think we need to vote on it, because it's something we do every year :D

ME ME ME, I want to do it! LOL. :lol I volunteer to head it up this year, or the groups thing that Debra mentioned. Whichever works for the vast majority.

Are you working with a realtor to sell your house? Hopefully the interest will start picking up soon. Are you planning on buying another house in WA?

Kristin...count me in for smaller groups, for sure. I just can't handle sending 50+ cards out right now.

Not a problem! ;)

Basically if we get 80 people who want to partcipate, then we can set it up in 4 groups of 20. That way everyone still gets a decent amount of cards but it won't be such a huge chunk of money.

Now if there are people who want to send to everyone, by all means, let them. But for those that don't, we can still have them in the groups. However the ones who do want to send to 80 people have to realize they won't get as many in return.

Does that make more sense?
