View Full Version : Can't think of a name!!
RockstarMom 03-08-2006, 09:44 PM Okay, I think my child may just well be nameless for the first couple days of his/her life. I can not think of a name I really like!! Anyone else ever have this problem? Also, dh and I can not AGREE on a name that both of us like and he's not being any damn help! :banghead I was fine with the other 2. I atleast had one boy's name andtwo girl's names. I just don't know this time....:no
Kellie 03-08-2006, 09:58 PM I think it'll come to you. You still have time. We had that problem our last pregnancy. Have you looked through a baby name book. There are so many new names that are coming out. Maybe try a baby name messge board. They give you honest opinions, and give you good suggestions.that's how I got Gavin's name.
Good luck.I'm sure you'll have some names picked out soon.
RockstarMom 03-08-2006, 10:00 PM Yeah, I don't tell anyone the names I choose because no one liked either of my children's names when I chose them.
April 03-08-2006, 10:03 PM my friend is due in 8 weeks. It's their 3rd girl, and they cant decide a name either :lol Good luck!
Caimbrie 03-08-2006, 10:05 PM My first 2 were named right away... for Wyatt,... we didn't fully decide on the name til he was born lol.
Kellie 03-08-2006, 10:09 PM Yeah, I don't tell anyone the names I choose because no one liked either of my children's names when I chose them.
Why didn't anyone like the names you had chosen??.All that matter's is that you and your DH like the name. I'm sure you'll find the perfect name for your little one.:yes
airyn1 03-08-2006, 10:10 PM I had the same problem. We just decided on Morgan's name not that long ago.
RockstarMom 03-08-2006, 10:42 PM Well, the other problem is it's really difficult to find a unique-ish name that doesn't sounf weird with our last name.
Kellie- we got way too much in the way of name "opinions" from DH's family and some friends. So we keep our mouths shut.
piggypunkinetta 03-08-2006, 10:49 PM We never had problems with girl names. The boys were hard. Ryan didn't have a name till a week before he was born. I had a dream and told dh Ryan Keiran and we both agreed. Dylan was tough too since we wanted to have him named before dh left on deployment. We wanted something to do with the ocean. His middle name is after dh's best friend. Dh wanted to name Dylan Seamus, but it just didn't feel right. I'm sure the right name will come to you, it is still early.
We have a girl name picked out... just nothing we can agree on for a boy.
PrincessBlue505 03-09-2006, 12:15 AM We had a boy named picked out, and agreed on a girl name, but once I got pregnant, I felt that girl name didn't "fit." Of course it turned out we were having a girl since we no longer had a name picked out. I had lots of names I liked, but DH didn't like any of them. He only had a few he liked and I didn't like his choices. I went on baby name sites, all over the place. I kind of liked Hailey, and DH really liked it and it was the only one we could agree on, so I let it grow on me, and I kind of just went with it out of shear frustration on not being able to find a name we both LOVED (especially since I REALLY wanted her to be named Savanna and just couldn't get it out of my head). Some days I still have reservations about her name......Oh, and we decided on it when I was about 6 months along just before DH deployed because it was really important to us to have it picked out (and the nursery set up including her name hanging on the wall) before he left......
Nickschic 03-09-2006, 03:18 AM dont sweat it you still have time
Becca 03-09-2006, 07:16 AM You could name her Penelope - that's uncommon :hehe
Potatocup 03-09-2006, 08:05 AM Yeah, I don't tell anyone the names I choose because no one liked either of my children's names when I chose them.
That's why we haven't told anyone. I really don't want opinions! you've got time still...
Kellie 03-09-2006, 08:17 AM A good baby name Book is The Baby name Wizard. It has a lot of names, and it also tells you what good sibling names go with the name your looking at.
Heather 03-09-2006, 11:14 AM We didnt have any trouble naming our son. His name is Cory and he would have been Korrie if he was a girl. Our daughter was named Lily before she was even concieved. Had she been a boy she would not have a name!
chrissy0718 03-09-2006, 12:06 PM It took us forever to decide on Darren's name. In dh's family all the boys the last 3 or 4 generations all their initials were DLD (with the middle name Louis). So all we had to pick was a first name that started with D. David is my brothers name, Daryl and Damien were taken (dh and his dad), my grandpas are both named Donald... and there aren't really a whole lot of other D names out there for boys! My mom was in love with Dylan but I wasn't too sure about it. About a month and a half before Darren was born, the name just popped into my head. I suggested it to dh and he agreed! (little did I know he only agreed b/c it was the name of a hockey player he liked! lol)
Now- when it comes to picking out a name for our next one... well that kid might not get a name! lol
Rachael 03-09-2006, 12:15 PM yah, we are having a HORRID time picking out a name for this little guy. Bill called him Tyler last night so I guess thats probably what it will be. Although I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name you suggested to me!
Im sure the perfect name will come to you....
RockstarMom 03-09-2006, 12:23 PM Yeah, also hard cause we want to use names that family has already used!! One of them used my husband's middle name without even asking 1st!! I wanted to use that name! THAT IMO is wrong.... :reallymad

I agree! 2 of my cousin's and a family friend has just found out they're PG,and I'm not telling them the names we have picked out for our next child.
One of my cousins is using the exact name my Aunt was going to name my cousin(Savanna Jean). but my Aunt went with the name Megan Nicole. So now my cousin is using the name Savanna Jean.
RockstarMom 03-09-2006, 03:56 PM My husband is Conor Liam and I wanted to use Liam as a boy's name, but my SIL went and named her son that without even talking to DH about it.
