My soon to be hubby is graduating from AIT on friday and he just got his official orders yesterday. He has 14 days off until he has to report to his duty station, not until Sept 7. He found out that the unit he is assigned is currently depolyed. During a phone call up to Ft Drum, someone made the comment that the last flight out of deployed soldiers leaves Sept 17 and that he might be joining his unit.
I guess my question to you ladies is, is this a common thing? He will only have 10 days to prepare for deployment, is that going to be long enough?
I remember reading somewhere that most soldiers get 10 days leave after AIT, except if they are going to be deployed and then it is 14 days. Should I take this as a sign and start preparing now?
I am new to this whole army and any adive would really help me out.
Thanks again ladies.
