All my pets are fixed. The only pet I didn't have fixed was our Akita, but we wanted to show/breed her, so that was why. And we were very careful otherwise about it.

I have 2 cats, and both girls are spayed and front declawed so they can't tear up my furniture! If they weren't spayed, let me tell you, they make this awwwwwfuuuuullllll meowing that I just can't handle when they go into heat. I wasn't having babies, or the uttering call of the wild at night during that time. It wasn't painful, quick recovery time (got it all and both done at the same time), and no scabs/scars/marks.

We are going to get our dog 'broken' (why call it fixed... reproduction no longer works, doesn't that mean broken? :giggle) sometime in the next couple of months.

I have always had my pets neutered. We got Fred neutered a few weeks after we got him. The previous owners I guess didn't believe in it.

My cat is spayed. My bird is not "altered", but she's not going to have and cage mates either.

the vast majority of pets should be altered. breeding should be left up to knowledgable & reputable breeders for improvement of the breed, not because "hey you have a male [insert breed here] & i have a female [insert breed here], let's breed them & sell the offspring!!!!!!"

We have 3 dogs, both males are neutered and our girl is spayed. I think its imperative to have your pet fixed.

We have one cat we adopted the first year we were married and since we lived on base in GA we had to get her spayed. Even if we weren't on base we still would've gotten her spayed. All the cats we had in my family back in IL were spayed/neutered too. I say unless you're planning on breeding for some reason or just don't believe in doing such a thing then go ahead and get your animals spayed/neutered. That's just my opinion though.

They are birds and too small to be neutered.

But they've had a safe sex talk, so we are all good.
