:thinking Just wondering...

Do any of you actually get "an approval" from your SO before you go get a new hair style or does it not matter to your SO? I know, mine likes my long hair (and so do I) so I hardly ever cut the length but, today I went to get a new hair style (for school) and it's a little bit shorter than usual (but still long) and since my SO is away at basic, I'm wondering if he's going to like what I did with it when he sees me! I hope so, because I love it! It's a little trendy and layered and a bit spikey on the edges and yeah... I just love it. And usually I let him know I'm gonna cut it, just to see what he says... but I kinda can't now, haha. Just wondering how you ladies go about changing up your look and handling your SO's opinion! :D

I like my hair short- DB likes it long. I am growing it out for his R&R, I figure if he only gets to see me for two weeks he can have long hair :rolleyes, but then I am cutting it. He doesn't want me to but I told him he has no say over my hair till he quites smoking!

I wouldnt do anything drastic to mine. DF LOVES my hair, and when I frosted it, he said "Well we both knew you were gonna do it, just dont you dare cut it off" So, I would consult with MY DF first.

I do consult him. After all, he looks at me more than I do, so it's only fair and in my best interest. He never cares, but I ask anyway. He knows he wouldn't like it if I cut it short, but anything shoulder length or longer is good. And I do monitor his reactions to different cuts I've tried. He cares more than he lets on. :giggle

It's my hair! I care for it! I wear it how I want it! :)

My husband likes cornorws but I'm tender headed I can't take all that pulling. But he pretty much likes whatever I do with my hair.

Well, I don't have to have DH's opinion, but I always ask it. Dh will let me know what he thinks(which is usually whatever), but I don't HAVE to have it

I wouldn't get anything done he wouldn't like. So yes I would talk to him first and see what he thinks before doing it

My DH prefers that my hair be long, so as long as I don't cut it too short, he's happy with it.

i have really short pixie length hair. db once suggested i try "the long look" and i told him growing out hair SUCKS & i like my hair the way it is. i sent himpics of me w/ long hair back in 8th & 9th grade. it's been progressively short since & i've had the current length for 9 years. i would not get pre approval to change my hairstyle. it's my hair, not his.

he likes my hair longer, when we met it was shorter but i've since grown it out and i love it. i don't get his approval unless it's a MAJOR MAJOR change in color or cut ETA: approval meaning would you like this on me?

I'll ask his opinion and its usually not to cut my hair cause he loves it long but I always do whatever I want with it lol

He doesnt care what I do to my hair, I have found a style I liked before and asked if he thinks it would look good (like I would to any of my girlfriends), but no I dont and wouldnt ask if I "Can" do something...he doesnt care anyways

I don't ask him for approval before I get a haircut. I usually never do anything TOO drastic minus the one time when I was pregnant, hot and exhausted and chopped it ALL off. HUGE mistake.....as I walked out of the salon I thought "I'm growing it out, starting now"

He'd never stop me from doing what I want though........

My hair is so long and I will be needing to cut a couple of inches off soon. I told DB about it and said I didn't want to cut my hair without telling him first. I think he was very flattered:D

I'm pretty sure DB would only notice if I chopped it all off, because I've changed it a few times and told him and he doesn't notice. So I guess I'd mention it but ultimately it is my hair and I don't think he cares too much.

he just likes it when i feel pretty, so he doesn't really care what it is i do with my hair :giggle

my DF doesent care what i do to my hair he likes it long becuae he likes to be able to run his fingures through it and play with it when were falling asleep,but if i want to cut it short he says " thats fine hun as long as you feel beautiful and it makes you happy." so im sure whatever you do your SO will love(L)

If I can't decide what to do with my hair (like lately), I ask my SO and everyone else I can think of to "do a global color vote" and tell me what they think.

When I know what I want though, I usually just state it like that. "I'm doing x to my hair when I go in."

He doesn't care anyway, and ends up loving it. Though, I must admit, I went back to my roots partly 'cos he said he'd always liked girls with darker, longer hair. (Though, obviously it didn't matter that much, since my hair was short and hot copper when he met me!)

Haha, you said it right. I agree. Plus, it's MY hair and he'll just have to deal with it. Ha at this point, HE WENT SHORTER THAN I DID (BCT) haha. :giggle

I won't ask for approval but I will ask for an oppinion I don't want him looking at me and thinking god I hate her hair every time he sees me lol

I do like to get his approval...not that I feel like I "have" too. He asked me to grow my hair out, and I have...its starting to grow on me actually. As far as coloring goes, he doesnt care as long as I dont go back to blonde for a while

Oh yeah my wife always asks me if her hair looks good and if not then she fixes it but now her hair is long just like it was when we got married and I LOVE it. I love her long red hair but I also love her short hair too. Never the less she is always asking me if her hair and make up is the way I like it because she does her make up a certain way that just does wonders to me, lol.

I consult him, and usually try to find a compromise between what he wants and what I want. When he's deployed though, that first hair cut and style is alllll me!

I don't ask permission. DH likes my hair long and last time I cut it I cut about 6 inches off, he didn't say anything but I could tell he wasn't happy. He told me the next day he liked it but wish I didn't cut it.

db loves my hair long and curly. i have been growing it out the whole time he's been deployed because i have never really had long hair. since it's curly i feel like it takes forever to grow! but its past my shoulders now for sure so im happy. i love it long. he doesn't like when i straighten it, and i hardly ever do that, but i do like when i have straight hair, just for a change! but yeah i talk to him about what im gonna do to my hair, mostly the cutting part, color he doesn't have as much say. but i don't want to do anything to it he won't like.

i don't think he really cares.. but when i mention to him about coloring my hair he's like "leave it alone!" :giggle i dunno. he's just really old fashioned and simple

For a trim and stuff I don't consult but if I were wanting to make a major change I would talk to him first.

I love myself with short hair ( this is the longest its ever been) but I'm growing it out to donate to locks of love ( and then i'm chopping it off again) However db loves long hair and doesn't want me to cut it.. I told him if he wants to start taking care of it and styling it everyday for me then i'll keep it long.. other wise oh well

Besides he doesn't keep his hair like I like it, so why should I?? ( he keeps it really short all over now, I like it when the top of it is alittle longer

I do what I want with my hair. He compliments me no matter how I have my hair. In February, I chopped it pretty short and had it dyed 4 different colors. It's longer now for my bff's wedding but the coloring is still being done and he still loves it though :)

We made a deal: I'll keep my hair long if he promises to grow his out once he gets out of the Navy. No compromise for me, I love my long hair and I'm looking forward to not seeing that military cut for a while.... :)

my hair was medium-shoulder length when DF and i first got together...he said he would like to see what i look like with longer hair, so i'm growing it out. my friends said that was control?!?!? whatever...it's my hair, it's not like i was forced to grow it out.

he tells me i'm beautiful no matter what, but i agree with the ladies that said he's the one who looks at me! :)

I have uneventful butt long hair - twice i tried to get it cut into a 'style' of some sort - both met with my annoyance with the maintenance and his disaproval after I gave up trying to maintain it :yes

So I gave up trying to do anything with it - he's a california guy, i'm sure he'd love it if I primped and styled it, but anything other than a bun just aint gonna work for me :)

Well, I'm a hairdresser, so DB is used to me having different hair ALL the time. The only thing he doesnt want is for it to be all blonde.. and I'm fine with that, I went through my blonde stage already, got it out of my system :teehee

I do what I want to do with my hair, I change hairstyles a lot, and he has no complants, and he always compliments me, but he just wishes I wouldnt wear extentions or tracks so often, but it allows my hair to stay healthy if its braided up (especially in this heat), so in the end I think I know what's best for my hair more so then him, but of course I want him to like it. It seems like most guys like long hair, I wonder what it is about guys and long hair?
