View Full Version : Lemoore Housing Question
flangl18 08-23-2007, 07:36 PM Lemoore ladies-
I I am looking at a map of housing, can you tell me where Stone Park Housing is located at? I have a map from the housing website and I was just trying to figure out where we may get a house. I guess that is the only area with Senior Enlisted Housing.
Thanks!
MontanaSweetie 08-23-2007, 07:45 PM I'm not exactly sure how to describe it to you. Its near the back gate housing entrance, I can't remember what the street name is called. I think its also across the street from Midway park and one of the elementary schools.
flangl18 08-24-2007, 05:59 AM Okay, that helps...hehe. Seriously, I have a map of the housing and it has the two schools on it. I was just trying to figure out if we got housing how far my girls would have to walk back and forth to school.
footstepswife 08-24-2007, 10:29 AM Depends on how old your map is, some of the housing is not on the map-
Stone Park is between Akers (elementary/jr high) and Neutra (elemnetary only)-Street are community Center and Franklin, also stone park is by the youth center and community center.

Thank you! That really cleared it up for me on this map. It shows both of those schools and the community and youth centers on it.

I am just anxious to get moved. KWIM? I have 9 working days left at work, then go on leave to get packed, etc. We are defenitly looking forward to being in a smaller community. I think our kids will enjoy it a lot more as well.

flangl18 08-30-2007, 05:32 PM Update - Our orders are a go, we just don't know which squadron yet until next week. Anyhow, talked to Julie at the housing office and she told me that judging by what she has now, we should have a house immediately when we arrive. We faxed our application in today so she can put us in the system and when we get our detachment endorsement, we will send that as well. Yeah! Only 3 weeks until we packout.

Good luck to you! I hope you enjoy Lemoore. We moved from Jacksonville to Lemoore, and spent 5 years at Lemoore before my DH got out of the military earlier this year. DH was with VFA-97...they were an awesome squadron. If by chance your DH is going there, let me know. I can get you the Ombudsman info, etc.
I didn't live in or near Stone Park (we lived in Coral Sea Park), so I couldn't remember where it was exactly. My son went to Neutra Elementary, and I could not for the life of me remember what the other school's name was (Akers).
Just be prepared that Lemoore is MUCH MUCH smaller than Jacksonville. It took me about a year to get used to it, plus its hot, dry, and has a lot of fog in the winter. However, I enjoyed Lemoore and miss being there at times.
CoffeeGirl 08-30-2007, 06:12 PM we loved Lemoore:tu:yes
flangl18 08-30-2007, 08:15 PM To tell you the truth, I am looking forward to a big change from Jacksonville. This has been my least favorite duty station of all the places we have been. The city is growing very fast, too fast for the roads to handle the traffic that is around the base and west side especially. If you live south of 295 and west of Blanding, you are in for an hour commute to the base, sometimes longer, at 6 -8 am. Most of the affordable homes to buy are way south of the base, around Middleburg, which again means a long commute.

I feel ya. I was born & raised in Jacksonville, and my entire family still lives there. The traffic was one of my least favorite things about living there.
You will love Lemoore even more then, because there is hardly any traffic at all! :D
